Shield effects are the only thing that can effect burrowed and immaterial creatures. Damage from spells and abilities is ignored. So this card would actually be a good form of renewable creature control, and it fits the Earth theme very well.

I've lowered the cost to play, as suggested. Also, I changed the wording on the card by giving more detail, as suggested. I even changed the image, by request. by giving it a more defined head. What do yall think?

Ah, so apparently it only damages your own creatures when it burrows? Why not just make it deal one damage to all creatures? Right now there is really no benefit to burrowing this guy. You really want to burrow it, because it's going to die if you don't, but then you have to make sure your own creatures can survive, so the burrowing ability will most likely never be used.

yeah i like the idea of doing 1 dmg to all creatures,  like an unstable gas. I'm just curious as to the effects of the damage on other burrowed worms. Really what i'm wondering is if you burrow one, then put another, does the first get damaged? because if not, stack this with a diamond shield, put in a few time towers, a couple graboids for damage and a protect artifact/eternity, seems like a pretty solid pvp deck where you can stack the dmg reduction to get creatures to low dmg, then add the -3 dmg from shield. ultimately, if the dmg doesn't hit burrowed creatures graboids/shriekers/this card would not be damaged and the only effects would be negative on the opponent.

edit: reading jmizzle's explanation leads me to believe this idea is plausible at least. hopefully if this card goes live i can try it out in the game

To me it doesnt seem worth the upgrade, as it costs 4 more quanta, for only four more damage (which will be only two once it is burrowed)
I like the idea, but i think the upgraded cards cost should be lowered.

I added the "all unburrowed creatures tak one damage" language, reduced the elder cost to play and use, as well. I think that the new wording will make a huge difference. I can see some REAL burrow decks taking shape, now. Let me know what you guys are thinking. I'll check back in the morning. Night, ppl.

6 of these + Diamond shield + Graboids/Shriekers + Eternity + PA + A Bouncing Photon = Earth/Time owning FGs?

Possibly some SoG/SoD to add some extra HP to keep you going. I like it!

The more I think about the way its currently worded, the more I like it. By only affecting non-burrowed creatures with the burrow damage (although, its not alot of damage) it creates a small incentive to have a  burrow-specific deck. Such as earth/dark. Time has the obvious combos of scarab/pharoah/anubis, and aether with immaterial, why not earth with, tremor worm/graboid/antilion and possibly, burrower as well? That would be killer.
I'm also beginning to wonder if the upped worm should just become a cheaper version of the regular worm, same stats just cheaper to play, instead of a bigger, more expensive worm.
