Im going to be starting a new series here to counterpart the Rare Weapons, which would be the Rare Shields.  I havent though of all of them yet (actually havent thought of most) and will take suggestions.  Dont have any actual cards yet, but will be making them soon.  Here is what I have:
 :aether: Charged Fence | Electric Fence (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,24088.new.html#new)
 :air: Windforce Shield | Windforce Barrier (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,23487.new.html#new)
 :darkness: Dark Night: Darkness/Death creatures have a 20% chance to receive an atk/hp buff while all others have attack reduced by 3.
 :death: Poison Shield: Give your opponent a poison counter for every attacking creature he/she has.
 :earth: Grounded: Only non airborne creatures can attack, lasts X turns

 :fire: Ash shield | Ash Wall (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,24927.new.html#new)

 :time: ?? X% chance to RT creatures? Delay 1 creature each turn for up to 6 turns?
 :water:  Purification: Get a purify counter for each attacking creature. (needs a better name)
Also thought of one for other, which could be you have a 5-10% chance to get a nymph of the attacking creature's element.
Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Total of 6 cards up.  Illuminating/Blinding Light needs more votes in the Crucible!

Had an idea,  Time could be one creature each turn is delayed for X amount of turns. X is between 1 and 6.  Tried to make art on a few of them, but failed miserably.  My artistic skills from RL transfer onto the computer.  For the entropy shield, I was thinking and tried to make its art 2-3 shields, but with say maybe half of them.  If anyone could fo that, it would be very helpful.

Difference between this and that is this shield is the same for each creature and it changes every turn after the end of your turn.  On a side not for that shield, if your opponent was to steal it, they would steal the current shield.

 :fire Burndown: Attacking creatures have a small chance to turn into Ash. Damage is reduced by X.
 :light Blindness: Attacking creatures have a small chance to heal you instead of attacking. Damage is reduced by X.

I have actually thought of several ideas that could be implemented as alternate elemental shields:

:gravity: Redirection: forces the creature to attack a random creature or its owner at a small chance.

:time: Rebound

:entropy: it could initiate a random shield effect every attack instead of every turn

:life/ :darkness: block X damage, heal yourself for every damage blocked.

:aether: Electric Fence? chance of attacking creature losing active skill

Some elements may or may not need shields though for they already have 2 or 3 different ones, but not to say that these can't be implemented anyways.
Rule #1: The Captain is never wrong.  Rule #2: If the Captain is wrong, refer to Rule #1.

Here is my ideas continuing yours:
:aether : Kekkai: Only creatures with ability can attack.
:air : Tornado Wall: Halve the attacks of airborne creatures.
:darkness : Solid Shadow: Only light bringer creatures can attack, lasts X turns.
:death: Grave Stone: Attacking creatures have 50% chance to turn into Skeletons.
:earth: Grounded: Only non airborne creatures can attack, lasts X turns.
:entropy: Alien Barrier: Attacking creatures have 50% chance to be mutated.
:fire: Firewall: Attacking creature's ATK is decreased by 1.
:gravity: Steel Shield: Creatures with momentum can't attack.
:life: Feral Shield: Bloack 1/2 damage. Acts as Emphatic/Feral Bond.
:light: *honestly, I don't think we should have a new one.  :light has 3 shields already, why don't make one of them rare?*
:time: Time Portal: Reverse Time the strongest (highest ATK) attacking creature.
:water: Waterfall: Get a purify counter for each attacking creature.
My idealized elements cycle:
Water -> Fire -> Air -> Earth -> Lightning -> Metal -> Light -> Darkness -> Wood -> Water

Or a "chance" to deal a fire bolt to attacking creatures, where that chance is a multiplier of their attack.
