One of my favorite things about EtG is that it pulls in a lot of fun science based cards / topics. This card is going with that theme. It is literally interacting with the amount of "entropy" in players' quanta pools.

Some possible uses: Scrambler synnergy, potential soft counter to Black Hole, deckout and draw advantage, general rainbow deck counter.

The level of dispersion can be calculated in mush the same way statistical mechanics calculates entropy (although the case here is a lot simpler)... hence why this card is in this element ;) ... Its a little math intensive, but won't be that hard to code (at least in Cygnia, I've never played with flash myself)
Spoiler for Calculating Dispersion:
The amount of dispersion in a player's pool is calculated in 2 steps. First, the total quanta, N is computed and fed into Stirling's Approximation for factorial logarithms:

A = N*ln(N)-N

Next the above formula is applied to the quanta count of each non-empty pool and the results are sumed:

B = Sum( Nr * ln(Nr) - Nr) over all Nr non-empty pools.

Then,

Dispersion = A - B

For those who don't like hurting their head with math, just know that
  • a uniform distribution yields the highest disperion.
  • having more quanta will also (in general) increase the total dispersion.
  • If all of a player's quanta is in a single pool, the dispersion is exactly 0 (regardless of how much quanta is there)

Some balance note, this card synnergies well with scrambler, however, it will actually have anti-synnergy with blackhole. The reason is that black hole uniformly reduces quanta totals, which effectively dampens the amount of dispersion.
On the flip side, players that use blackhole against you will end up reducing your pools dispersion, which will make it easier for you to benefit from this card.

Lastly, while this card 'measures' the quanta in each player's pool it does not actually modify them at all. Moreover, it does not touch the players' hands either. Therefore sanctuary WILL NOT prevent this card's effect.

Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?
If your zombie plan is
kill -9 `ps l | awk '{print $2" "$3" "$9}' | grep "Z" | awk '{printf("%s ",$2)}'`
You might be a unix junky
