Simple buff spreader with an entropy / light feel. The unupgraded version has a double edge to it (may buff enemy creatures) so it is quite a bit trickier to use well. The upgraded version only buffs the owner's creatures, making it quite a bit easier to build a deck around. Hence the cost increase when upgrading.
If you don't have any left, then the ability simply fizzles (does not destroy the orb).
If you have more than one orb in play, all of them trigger each time a spell is played.
There is no limit to how many times an orb may trigger in a turn.
The orbs will trigger regardless of which player casts a spell (so the upped version can act as a soft anti-spell mechanic)

Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?
If your zombie plan is
