Is this applicable if you have a Bone Wall out? Also, this would be crazy good [if the answer is yes] in a UG-based deck/rainbow.

Sorry for the lack of close reading.. very cool. UG combo still applies then. Also, it may be cool with some pandemonium action.

Nice way to increase the synergy with :death and :water. This would go great in a BW/Flooding deck.

Typically cards with a limited effect scope don't work out too well. But somehow this actually works out decently. I dont think it would have been so if it didn't add bone shields in the absence of a preexisting shield. If I may make one suggestion, I feel it should simply play a Bone Wall card if there is no current shield. It's a slight overall buff and gives a few more uses while maintaining its current uses.
My only concern is how easily it's killed atm.
Though bone itself is not necesarily hard, typically in archetypical bone creatures, that layer of bone provides an incredibly dense and powerful defense. I almost feel the atk and hp need to be swapped.

Wow. Just wow.
This is a great idea. Midrange attacker with decent effect, while not overshadowing Abyss Crawler.

So it is a 5|1 for 6 :water+1 card (See Lava Golem) that has an anti CC ability (you would have to buff the Bonefish in game for the opponent to kill it) instead of Growth.

Probably balanced. But it might work better as a undead fish rather than a bony fish.
