Yay overused themes and possibly an idea too.  Anyways, the idea here is that because Gravity has a lot of combo use; and is in my opinion the weakest to counter-combo cards, like RT and Lobo, on top of general CC.  So to help mitigate the weakness, this not only accelerates combos, but also gives a little refund if they are tampered with.

I think my favorite combo with this would be momentum scorpions, when I have multiple Scorps out and several momentum a in my hand.

The awesomest thing here is that it actually provides tempo inertia, by negating the tempo gain from your opponent's control. You have my bonus point ;)

I particularly like this idea in Gravity due to the fact of how obscenely large the costs tend to be. That and the fact that it subtly gives more use to Protect Artifact.

I hate to necro normally, but I really think this card makes a great addition. Its one of my top two favorites in openEtG for a number of reasons.
Can you link it to the crucible submissions? I don't think it ever actually got submitted since I don't see it any of the archives or I would have propesed it for a resubmission myself (which I very rarely do).
