I think that this card is a bit overpowered. I mean, consider the unupped: Fire shield costs 6  :fire, and deals 1 damage to attacking creatures. This card costs just one more than that price and also gives its owner a quantum each turn. Comparing this quantum-generating aspect of the card to the only current shield which produces quanta, the solar shield costs 3  :light, reduces damage by 1, and converts damage into  :light. This shield actually harms creatures who attack AND creates quanta. I would suggest lifting the price to 8 on both of them, just because I don't think that this shield should only cost 1 additional quantum in comparison with the fire shield.

The unuped should have been left at 8, but it is less important then the up'd. Fire buckler costs 4; compare up'd to up'd. Solar Buckler costs 2.

This was based off of the formula posted by Captain Scibra in Odin's shield thread. Four damage based off fire buckler. [7 (average D [1]) -3 (Single slot) = 4  :underworld].

Two questions: does the effect stack (for example, 2 copies of this card deal 2 damage to attacking creatures?) and does it produce  :death or  :aether randomly?

How could it stack? It is a shield. Yes, it would have to be random.
