NOTES:
I imagine that the concept has been tried before, sorry if it resembles a past idea. I am considering lowering cost to 3 :death (2 :death upgraded). The point of this card is to have in element healing for the death element other than the dreaded SoSac. I am considering a mechanic that prevents sacrificed creature from activating boneyard or graveyard to avoid excessive creature production for more tributes. Updated as of Jan 9th 10:45pm, how about this?

a card with the word 'dark' in the name without any connection to :darkness? XD
i'd re-word 'The creature's atk + def = X' to 'X = target's attack + HP'

The upgrade is a huge improvement: 1 less casting cost, 1 less cost to use, and 2 more healing.
I think that this'd mean that either the table is UP or the altar is OP, but it could be that they are both just a bit unbalanced.

this is not OP with any :gravity card,
as GP would allow almost the same amount of bonus HP,
but also protects from the full final blow.
Just saying before some1 mentions it.

EDIT: I think it is fine if this triggers all death effects. The healing from sacrificing skeletons isn't much.
be quick- time is quanta.

Might be fun with eclipse and boneyard. Doesn't seem very efficient though.

This seems a bit underpowered - compare it to Heal or Shard of Divinity, which can offer 20 and 24 HP respectively at only 3 :rainbow | 2 :rainbow and do not require a creature to sacrifice. Holy Light | Holy Flash are also healing effects that outclass Dark Ritual Table/Altar.
Ideally, one would use this card on cheap, spammable creatures, but then the cost would be too high and the heal too low to be viable.
I like the concept of sacrificing a creature to gain health (or other benefits) as it is consistent with Death's theme, but it just doesn't seem to be working.

You could always just use the phrase "to gain HP based on the targets attack and hp"
Then the return can be scaled by whatever scheme seems good to keep it balanced.
Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?
If your zombie plan is
kill -9 `ps l | awk '{print $2" "$3" "$9}' | grep "Z" | awk '{printf("%s ",$2)}'`
