% chance to miss creature card(s) https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=4494.msg44466#msg44466

So, I was reading the Savant of Darkness topic (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,4492.0.html) and it made me remember about an idea I had earlier this week.  Perhaps a darkness spell, something along the lines of Cloak (1 or 2  :darkness , depending on the effect).  Hope I'm not stepping on your toes, omerbey

My original thought was that abilities/spells targeting the creature equipped would have a % chance to miss/fail.  I'm not sure how possible that would be to implement, but as an alternative it could also be that the creature cannot be targeted for X number of turns (like the Savant card's)

I had also thought that this effect could be implemented as a permanent rather than a spell.  Either a Dark Fog ( :darkness),  Dense Fog/Mist( :water), or Glaring Light ( :light) type of thing.  When in play, abilities/spells targeting creatures have a % chance to miss.  I'm not so good at balancing these things or considering how OP cards are, so I'm not sure if it should apply to just your field or the entire field.  I mean, even if it is the entire field, a card like this makes a deck based on pure damage creatures that much more effective.

After considering a bunch of things, I think my favorite option that I came up with would be to add the effect to the Solar Shield/Buckler.  The Glaring Light card would only protect your creatures with bioluminescense(sp?).  It would definitely be good with the life rush/frogs combo, but attaching the effect to the shield means it can't be stacked with Hope and makes you choose between trying to protect your horde from RoF or having basically an impassable shield.

I just like the idea of being able to protect your creatures from harm, to be honest.   Is it terrible?
