Why force creatures?

With such a high cost, it's most likely you'll be using this on life creatures anyway.

Figured it needed some kind of limitation so people wouldn't yell about nightfall abuse...
If the cost seems prohibitive enough though, I have no problem whatsoever with removing the restriction.

Seems pretty good, considering creatures often have the same amount of HP as they do ATK. Though, maybe consider having the upped do +2|-1

This is something of a nod to openEtG, since it has Fungus which are nocturnal...
For regular EtG, it just means that the first usage on a creature will have a stronger impact than subsequent uses (because after the first use, the creature becomes nocturnal).

Don't see what off element abuse this would have, assuming it doesn't apply +2|-2 to darkness creatures before they're marked "nocturnal" (ie in the case that darkness/death is already nocturnal)

Thematic buff card for is really the main purpose.

Life is about adaptation. This represents creatures adapting to a dark and dangerous environment by coming nocturnal and more vicious.

Mechanics wise, it gives a way to extend nightfall and eclipse buff to creatures of other elements. The counterbalancing HP loss is to prevent abuse with sparks or other 0 HP creatures.
The ATK bonus is pretty substantial, so it should be useful in its own right...

Where would I use its?... giant frogs, forest scorpions, cockatrice. After its rolling its like adding +1 to get +3 ATK (unupped) or +1 :darkenss for +5 ATK (upped). That seems worth it to me... or would you really say a 10|2 Giant Frog is not worth it?.

Without the -1 HP, it might be, in the situation Odin described.

You play a Spark, make it nocturnal with this card - Spark is now 4 | 0

Play Eclipse - Spark is now 6| 1
