Budokan #3 - Round 7

Rulings have been made according to the written rules. For Round 5, majo was made Champion but did not receive a point for the win. For Round 7, Oni was made Champion but did not receive a point for the win. You're back at square one, gentlemen. No one has gotten an advantage. I will say the rules are not perfect regarding inactivity and will be investigated for the next Budokan, but that's a matter for suggestions and feedback.

I suggest you spend your energy on getting the games in, and next time argue in PM. Thanks.

Actually, in Round 5, I was given a point for the win. As I have stated, it was the last case scenario. Oni was not give a win for refusal to play a match during the short extension given for the Fire match to get done. I was on all day yesterday and asked Onizuka if he would like to play the match. In order to keep the event moving, the decision I felt was best was to declare the match a 'no play' and move Onizuka from challenger to champion and Kuroatiou from aide to challenger.

Prior to posting Round 7, I sent Onizuka a PM stating what was going to happen. After he posted in the thread, I felt that continuing the discussion there would be best.

well, i did sent PM and cheesy was actually more active than me that's true and he replied. I had an assignment late at night then the next day complete internet down and i posted 'i need extension' I did the best i could even if it's using my phone to online. After i posted, i PM cheesy saying if the line if still bad, take the win. He agreed but he would rather play to determine who's the winner, which i seriously respect him for how fast he pm me back too. Below are proofs.

I'm free only today and during weekends, so i'll meet you in chat preferably GMT1400 - 1900 weekdays and weekend GMT 1300-2100

I couldn't retrieve what was said in chat. Cheesy can affirm that i told him case report needed to be sent in. And he said something that real life is more important. Anyways, i think having these PMs means we really do message each other and tried to play our match.

Caught your messages and messaged you back JUST before you left.  I really don't want to claim a win unfairly.  If I have to, I will, but I'd rather catch you again at the next possible opportunity - the earliest I'll be home on a weekday is 19:00GMT, so if you can be on then, awesome.  If not, PM me whenever you get a chance and I'll try to be on anytime later than that.  I cannot be on earlier than that, unfortunately.

Most of our conversation happened in chat we both present in chat all the days till deadline. Due to timezone differences, i can't play on the 1st. 2nd day, line was bad, i could only post in the thread saying extension needed, sorry to cheesy who had to wait. I couldn't make my typing appear in chat. 3rd day, i was there, but as you can see, cheesy has work too and he promised to come back as soon as possible to play (he always do) and we played later since only about half an hour left. See-ing 3 teams haven't played, i said i would wait for extension, and got your pm like few hours later, majofa and cheesy was back. Conclusion, we played.

Based on above you would have probably received an extension. Stuff happens, so as long as it's not too long after the initial deadline, it's ok. It never hurts to ask.

Hm, so you updated the Round 5 OP with the results of that point. Gotcha. Seeing as how both you and Oni were unable to play when the other was at different points during the round, extension included, the ruling is correct. There is one condition though, and I'll PM you about it. Discussion about rulings shall never be done in public, particularly if a participant starts it. It's part of the organizer's responsibility to move it to the right place.

PvP Organizer Decision:

After much deliberation, the Onizuka vs. Majofa match will not undergo a change.  Majofa acted with precedence and is not in the wrong.  I acted hastily and was slightly influenced by an unbiased second opinion. 

Table has been updated.

Updated my decision.  I acted hastily.  Majofa is re-awarded the point against Kuro, he did not act without precedent, and the decision for the Majofa vs. Onizuka match is about as correct as it is possible to get.
