You shouldn't have to give an explanation for why you voted for your team's submissions.

As others have said, you should just get one vote for your own submission if you vote for another team's.

This. While coherent explanations for one's self-votes on their own team are nice I would be opposed to outright _requiring_ them.  But, as the BM's rule so I will abide.
