What do you mean by redesigning? The teams will be able to change their names
redesigning, as in changing the "feel" of the teams... moving away from the concept of "one element, one team".. or is this an integral concept?
Well, Brawl #3 will start with the guilds acticive so the elemental part of the teams may be present.

If Brawl feels the need to move away from elemental alliances, then feel free to do so. The main idea behind having Guilds and Brawl have elemental parallels was so that community members had an idea of where to go and what to do.

But in any case, if Brawl teams change their names it wouldn't make much of a difference. Should the whole of a team choose to participate in one particular Guild, then good for them. Bonus points, regardless.

Trying to take the discussion from Fireleaf's thread here.
I think the way that players chose a team is suboptimal. Some people think it'd be best if you couldn't chose at all; I don't. But the fact that players don't have to state it before the bidding process starts is a rather huge flaw and leaves room for possible abuse. In the next Brawl, after the bosses of the respective teams have been announced, every applicant should have to post a clear hierarchy (e.g. '1. Life 2. Death 3. [...]') that he may not change after.

Right now we use team-chat for that, but some of the forum tools: deck and card image generator, embedding image capabilities and some formatting stuff is not available there.

True, but that is something an admin should do iirc. Use the QI tool, it takes a moment to load the decks but it's what we used in Brawl #1.

"Equal opportunity" is exactly the approach I took.  After three bosses each bid the maximum number of points for me, I allowed time for each to demonstrate why s/he valued me more highly than the others.  I then selected the one that did so.  I truly did not have a preference before bidding.  I even stated in my application that I would go with the team that valued me the most highly.

We are using that, but it does not support forum-compatible formatting, such as embedding images, decks, coloring, bold, underline, tables, headings, hyperlinks are all different in forum format.

So we ended up PM-ing each other pre-submission versions of our tasks multiple times back and force for each modification so we can use the proper format. But since you can't save while editing a PM and some of the tasks involve significant size of work, our FE ended up losing several hours of work by an accidental click during PM editing.

Adding Secret sections for Brawls would result in 1 extra visible subforum for players who participate in Brawl, and nothing extra visible for those who do not.

I liked it more last Brawl when all of the tasks' creators were anonymous until the end of the voting. It'd make people concentrate more on the thing itself than on the team.
Gone for awhile now, though I still pop by from time to time.
