What is Forum Brawl?Forum Brawl is a forum event where 12 teams compete against each other if different tasks that happen all around the forums.
Teams will have 7 members, each with their own
special role. Players go head-to-head against players from other teams by doing tasks based on what their role is. The community decides which players perform the best, and points are awarded accordingly. After 6 rounds of brawling, the team with the highest score will be the winner.
What makes Forum Brawl different from most other events is the fact that
there is no PvP in Forum Brawl. The event is all about creativity, artistic skills, and most importantly, forum awesomeness.
BrawlmasterWe will have two
Brawlmasters who are responsible for Forum Brawl event. They will have an active role in designing the tasks for each round, and will handle all the day-to-day actions like posting new topics or replying to questions about the event. Brawlmasters will be appointed by the Elements Council. This time around they are
Naesala and
UTAlan.
How to Join Forum BrawlForum Brawl will usually happen right after War event ends. Once the sign-up topic is posted, any community members may join the event. When you join, you need to choose the top 3 roles you would be interested in, in order of preference. Picking the right role for you is extremely important because it will affects what you will be doing in the event, so please do not choose a role you are not familiar with. All this will be explained in detail in the sign-up topic. If a role does not receive enough people wishing to be in it, it may be dropped from the event.
Roles1. BossEach team will have a
Boss whose main responsibility is to build the team. Boss will also participate in the event by dueling other Bosses in random tasks. Boss is different from other roles because you cannot sign-up as a boss.
Masters of each element will first be given the opportunity to become a Boss. If a Master is unable or unwilling to join the event, he or she can name a replacement. The event is
not compulsory, so Masters should not be afraid to use a replacement if they feel they do not have enough time or interest.
2. Card DesignerCard Designer duels other Card Designers by producing a new card idea based on theme and restrictions posted each round.
3. DeckbuilderDeckbuilder duels other Deckbuilders by building unique decks based on theme and restrictions posted each round.
4. ArtistArtist produces unique Elements related art. This category includes any visual medium, so photography, film, and such are permissible in addition to drawings.
5. WriterWriter produces unique Elements related stories and poems.
6. Off-TopickerOff-Topicker gets tasks that are related to one of the section in
Off-Topic Discussions. This role requires well-rounded skills in many different areas (or amazing Google/Wikipedia skills).
7. Forum ExpertForum Expert works with many of the things that make the forums great that don't fit into above categories (Wiki, Tools, etc.).
Building the TeamAll the players will be divided into the roles based on their preffered roles then added to an alphabetical list. This list will then be sent to all 12 Bosses, who will reorder the list from most preferred to least preferred player. Brawlmasters will build the teams by first arranging all 12 lists in random order, then going through each list, one by one, picking the most preferred available player, until each team has a total of 7 players (Boss + 6 others). After all the teams are full, any player without a team, will unfortunately be left out of the event.
RoundsForum Brawl has a total of
6 rounds, each lasting
7 days. A new round will start as soon as the last one ends. Tasks will be relatively simple so 7 days should be more than enough time to perform them. Overall workload of Forum Brawl will be much less than in events like War and Trials. The event lasts 7-8 weeks in total.
ScoringScoring will be based on community vote and bonus points given by the Expert Panel.
1. Community Vote Poll with all the submissions, anonymously given and in random order. One vote for each forum member who is Jr. Member above. Poll runs for 6 days. Submissions are ranked based on the final results of the poll. Because the voting is to be anonymous to lower bias, self advertising is grounds for automatically losing a round. Don't worry, after votes are tallied everyone's name will then be shown so you can receive proper credit! In the event of a tie, points for the places that tied will be added together and divided equally (e.g. 1st and 2nd tie, both teams would gain 10 points). Any leftover points will be dropped.
1st = 12 points 2nd = 8 points 3rd = 5 points 4th = 3 points 5th = 2 points 6th = 1 points 7th = 0 points 8th = 0 points 9th = 0 points 10th = 0 points 11th = 0 points 12th = 0 points | 2. Expert Panel Both Brawlmasters and Administrators pick their favorites in all 6 categories. Each submission that is picked by one of the members of the Expert Panel, scores an additional 2 points. One submission can receive bonus points from more than one Expert Panel member. |
Scoring will happen during rounds so that the scoring of round 1 will happens during round 2, scoring of round 2 happens during round 3, etc.
WinnerThe team that has the most points after all 6 rounds, wins the event. All members of the team will receive a cool forum award icon and tons of respect.
This event is no longer under construction, but we still appreciate feedback. If you have any ideas on how to improve the rules, please post it here. Thank you.
