"Once on Olympus, Hephaestus lived underground, where he could work as an artisan undisturbed. Hera gave him a massive workshop with many bellows, anvils, and helpers" -http://www.webwinds.com/myth/hephaestus.htm

Hephaestus is the God of stonemasons, artisans, craftsmen, etc.  Thus, Hephaestus watches over and protects mortals who are engaged in similar crafts, working deep in their underground smithies as he does, and serving as a leader for these souls.  This concept is reflected in the card by having Hephaestus grant a buff to other creatures who "work underground." In mythology, Hephaestus himself was lame, however, which is reflected in his stats.  Furthermore, since Hephaestus is a God, as mortals spread their religion, Hephaestus gains more followers, which is represented in his ability to burrow other creatures.

Question: How is this connected with the theme of leadership?
Answer: This card is connected with the theme of leadership through the following ways:
1)  Its name: Though it is not quite obvious, Martyrs and Prophets always  had a huge impact to the people and sometimes even managed to infuence  kings or massive armies. In other words, they were great leaders of  their people.
2)  Its effect: Martyr buffs fellow comrades by sacrificing himself for the  greater good, increasing their morale (+1|+1 stats) and also bringing  an "infidel" to the righteous way. Furthermore, Prophet manages to  reveal the righteous way to "infidels" by showing them the future or by  performing miracles (in other words, without sacrificing himself).

Poisoned (1) means the creature enters play with a poison counter on.
Hive Shielded is a condition that makes the creature untargettable.

The Queen Bee is the leader of the bees, mother of them all.
She is protected by the beehive, and her sons and daughters will sacrifice for protecting her and killing her aggressors.
She also needs to be fed and reproduce constantly, to prevent her from becoming unable to produce female heirs, which would mean death of the dynasty, considering how short bees can live.

NOTES:
Should be quite self explanatory, the special ability will prompt player to target a field slot. Then any creatures in or adjacent takes 2 damage (immaterials exempt of course).
Since a slot is being targeted and not a creature directly, you can still localize the strike over top an enemy immaterial creature (although it would not take damage from this), or even an empty slot (e.g. to take hit adjacent creatures)

Earth was chosen as the host elements as it fits with concept of a massive mace like weapon. It also fits the thunder / lightning theme, since lightning is created when electrical charge is pulled from the clouds ( hence the air cost ) to the earth. The earth also acts as a sounding board, amplifying and echoing the boom of thunder.

One special note for targeting:
If an enemy field slot is targeted, enemy creatures are affected.
If a friendly field slot is targeted, creatures on BOTH sides are affected.

The friendly targeting option will allow, for example, strategic CC of antimattered creatures, infested cells, or perhaps voodoo dolls.

The Murakumo, alternatively known as the Kusanagi, came from the innards of the slain Orochi.

The full name is "Ame no Murakumo no Tsurugi," meaning "Sword of Gathering Clouds of Heaven," which leads on to its power which allowed Yamato to control the wind with the swing of its blade.

This ability gave birth to the ability of the blade, Kazegiri, which literally translates to Air Slice.  It allows the weapon to "slice" through a target row of creatures.

This would work by targeting any creature in the row and, as such, damage the row.

A weapon that can also take the form of a fiery-serpent creature.
It was an atlatl weapon that Huitzilopochtli used to decapitate Coyolxauhqui at Coatepec hill. (Mythological people you've probably never heard of).

The 'Pierce' ability is much like the Crit ability that the Shard of Freedom grants. The difference being that the % of Pierce is based on your amount of quanta: 10% for every 5 :air quanta.

If the weapon is destroyed, stolen, or replaced by another weapon, it transforms into the creature form. This is the same effect of flying a weapon, and with this card, if it is flown, it turns into the creature not a flying weapon.

This card gives Air an ability to swarm quickly which it severly lacked with the saturation of overcosted 3 attack creatures. Owl's Eye is a powerful card, and I think this one equals it in playability.

"...the sacred weapons that God had given him: Rhongomiant his spear, Caledfwlch a sword, and Carnwennan his dagger..."

Carnwennan, or "Little White Hilt", is one of the divine weapons King Arthur of Camelot is said to have once possessed. In the tale of Culhwch and Olwen, Arthur is able to slay the Very Black Witch by slicing her body in half with the dagger. The blade is also thought to have magical qualities, that whosoever wielded Carnwennan would be "shrouded in shadow".

In order to accommodate Carnwennan's magical component (a mechanic more appropriate to :darkness ), and yet maintain the divine nature of the legendary blade, the ability was slightly modified. Since it is the person wielding the weapon who is enchanted, it made sense to have the shield slot protected, or "shrouded". Naturally, this protection would last only as long as the dagger remained in play on your side.

It’s so hot in here, even the flies are going crazy.
This deck’s strategy is centered around the three Fahrenheits, with the little Brimstone Eater, Damselfly and Elite Firefly meant to provide quanta for more fiery damage. The Green Nymph (along with the Epinephrines) and Firefly Queen are support cards, adding both damage and quanta production. Finally, the Fire Spectre and Air Nymph are alternate sources of damage for when you’re outside of the U.S. (and those pesky Fahrenheits just don’t show up). The deck might look too slow for a control-less rush, but don’t be fooled.

Spoiler for The story:
It had been a long time since Gordon the lava destroyer had seen the flames of battle, and he ached to see it again. He wandered to and fro, waiting for the next battle, but it seemed like forever since he had seen one. Where were the battles? Where was his master? While not known for his intelligence, Gordon seemed to be the first to recognize that in the longest time, nobody had seen their master. When Gordon brought this point up to Ulysses, the Ulitharid, Ulysses seemed to scoff, "Our master is busy, surely he will return," , but time had passed; ages rolled by. New creatures flourished, and old ones faded, the entire face of the world seemed to change; finally Ulysses was forced to conclude that Gordon was right. Ulysses had scheduled a meeting with their fellow allies to give the news of their master's disappearance. "Is it true?" Feona, the firefly queen, asked, unsure of what would happen next. "I'm pretty sure it is no big deal," whispered the dark gargoyle, Gregory. "Regardless", Michael, the archangel, said as he stroked his pet leaf dragon, "Whatever happens now, we will just have to look after each other and continue on our paths." Elliot the charger, eager to continue in any way possible, seemed nonplussed in the face of this setback. "But can we really?" questioned Feona, still worried about what would become of them. Ulysses seemed to voice the doubt that hung in the air and on everyone's mind, "but now...we have no master. We are just...Ronin"

Gordon pounded his fist angrily, always hot-headed, he made no effort to contain himself. "I don't care whether our master is gone or dead! The point is, he is no longer here, and we will have to look out for ourselves in the meantime!"

"By ourselves? That's impossible!" Gregory moaned.

Gordon shook his head and continued, "Even if we are without a master...our comaraderie will pull us through! I don't care if we have to deal with mountains, fire, lightning, time itself, or whatever else comes against us!" With this, even the others had to nod their heads and agree. Together, the seven ronin went off together into the unknown.

Spoiler for The play style:
This rainbow deck was designed as half control, and half damage. Pandy, skull shield, uli, RT, thunderbolt and BB all provide heavy CC. Since only seven creatures are available, there are also buff cards, such as CP and epi, with nearly every single creature getting a lot out of it. Improved heals can be powered by Leaf dragon, and act as defense to prolong life. This deck is a bit weak to CC and annoying permanents, but instead focuses on a balance of offensive damage and CC.

Spoiler for Team Darkness:
Having recently been defeated, yet again, by an "Immortal" False Gods, I was walking along the road when I saw him -  lying on the side of the road, beaten to a pulp, - and yet still he kept an odd smile upon his face, despite his injuries. Feeling my possibly unwanted presence, I crept behind a nearby tree, for want of knowing his story.
He started talking to himself. "Accursed False Gods" he murmured, still with the smile. "I can beat all save you. Why must you be so strong? Strong enough even to remove my consciousness! Leave me to rot! Twas most fortunate I saved myself!"

He continued rambling for a fair while, say one quarter hour, when a rather bizarre event occurred : an inconceivably huge snake started down the road! Then, the giant snake went to talk to the man. Yes, the snake talked to the man. He asked him what was wrong, and the man explained his predicament. The snake pondered for a few moments, and explained that he, too, despised the False Gods.

"Perhaps we could form a sort of Alliance" said the snake.

"Perhaps." answered the man "but how? The only thing I succeed in is taking damage - the False Gods take equal damage to what I take. But I can't survive that much, though."

"Fear not, m'lad. For although my teeth is venomous, my blood has a spectacular ability - the ability to prolong life! I could give you a tad bit of it, and you too could prolong your life!"

"That sounds most excellent!" the man said. "But I doubt that the False Gods would be so stupid as to damage me."
And twas then that another impossibility occurred - a - for lack of a better word - monster, twice the height of the snake, appeared. He appeared to have also overheard their conversation, and jumped right in.

"Allow me!" he shouted "With my huge force, I can pull attacks towards you! You could force them to damage you!"

"Indeed, indeed." the man said "but I still doubt that that would be sufficient." he sighed.

And then, I kid you not, yet another impossibility occurred - from nowhere, 6 twins of the very man, all in equally battered condition, appeared. And, speaking simultaneously, they said: "Allow us! We can inflect damage inflicted upon you upon the False God!"

"True, true..." said the original "But how could we pull it all together?"

I waited for another miracle, but when none showed, I revealed myself from behind the tree.

"I could help with that. I can summon Stars to guide you and Towers to aid you. I, too, have been tortured by the False Gods, due to my poor Elementalship. But you folks may be capable of what I was not."

"Oh, thank you so greatly!" said the man. "However could we repay you?"

"Well..." I said slowly "Perhaps you could name yourselves in my honor. Perhaps you could become Shak'ars Revenge."

Spoiler for Team Gravity:

The Life Elemental looked down upon his army with pride. His Firefly legions, that he had assisted his Firefly Queens in making, were strong and fit for battle. His Queens were marching around them, Eagle’s Eyes on each of their backs. They were starting to look impatient at all this waiting, as did the Fireflies.
Okay. Ready. You can do this.
“Attention!” he called, so he could start the standard procedures before they set out for war. The buzzing immediately died down, and the Queens ceased marching and held a hand to their foreheads in a salute.
“Solidiers!” he said, “at ease!”
The queens instantaneously placed their hands behind their backs, gazing up with affection towards their leader.
“Ahem. It has been a long journey for all of us. I know I have grown a great bond with you all, as I hope you have with me. You have trained hard, and today, that will all be worth it.
“We may not be the strongest of fighters, but we are many. You are the light of many candles shining in the dark. Alone, we may be hopeless, but together, we have HOPE!”
There was a huge uproar of buzzing at this statement. The Life Elemental smiled, he was a born leader.
“So now the time has come. It is time to show them what we’re made of. We can, and WILL, destroy them. So now, let us go out there with our heads held high. WE WILL WIN THIS WAR!”
Another huge cheer erupted for the crowd as his Queens directed them to the battleground.
The Life Elemental scanned his force. Main attackers at the front, support just behind, his Queens on the sides and scattered throughout, and healers at the back, ready to assist.
Perfect. We WILL win this war. He smiled to himself as he climbed down the balcony to join them in their fight.

Spoiler for Team Time:
In the highest tower in the city of darkness, Shada, the mysterious shadow queen, awaited a visitor. An old man limped into the room and reached into his pocket. He pulled out a solid black crystal, releasing it into the air. The crystal floated in the air, filling the room with Darkness. "It's called Eclipse," the old man said. "It invokes the natural Darkness to strengthen the nearby Darkness creatures. I could make it even stronger...if only I had more time..." Shada let out a slow, heavy sigh. "Sadly, time is not a resource we have. Flare has captured the western side of the city, and he has spies spread throughout the east. He is obsessed with Fire and destruction and is using all of his resources to ruin us. The Tower of Darkness is the last stronghold we have, and there is no more than a day or two before Flare invades it as well. Confrontation is inevitable, and I don't see how I can defeat him."

"There could be one way," the old man mused. On cue, a bubbly, blue-haired girl stepped into the room. "Meet Ethris, Princess of Aether," the old man announced. In the girl's hand was a bright blue orb shining in every direction. "Have you ever dreamed of a full army of pests, draining your opponent's energy to the point that he is left lifeless," Ethris said with excitement in her high voice. She let out a shrieking laugh. "I have the perfect spell for you, Shada!" "The mythical Fractal spell..." Shada mused. "So it does exist. I'll take five of them," she said as she handed over some electrum. Ethris and the old man then left the room, and Shada eventually drifted asleep.

Shada woke up to a loud, obnoxious chuckle. "Hehe, I've finally made it to Shada's lair," a deep, menacing voice said. He kicked open the door to Shada's room, and Shada immediately recognized him as Flare. "Your guards are all dead," Flare said. "They got a little... burned." Without hesitation, Shada called upon the Darkness around her to summon a Pest. Flare responded by sending forth a Lava Destroyer. Shada casted another Pest, but Flare grew his Lava Destroyer, boosting its strength. He followed with two Minor Phoenixes. Shada then released a Fractal into the air. The blue orb sped towards one of the Pests, surrounding it, and then creating 8 copies of it. The new army of Pests drained Flare of his energy. Shada followed with her Eclipse, boosting the strength of each Pest. Her army attacked Flare, who was unable to stop it. Shada then summoned a Vampire and played another Fractal. Her legion of Vampires attacked Flare, healing all of the damage off of Shada. At last, Flare was killed.

Without its charismatic, all-powerful leader, Flare's army shattered into chaos and disorder. The marvelous city of Darkness was freed from the brutal grasp of Flare. But the city never seemed to return to its former glory.

Spoiler for Team Nyan Sharks:
The Story of Vader Sader

For the twenty-sixth time, the forces of Light were going to war against the kingdom of Darkness.

These wars were invariably long, costly, and ended with no clear winner. Nobody could remember how the wars had began, although there was a popular campfire story that it had begun when an army of Black Dragons had been slain by a mere apprentice with the aid of a Holy Light.

This time, Light was sending its best new mercenaries, the Crusaders. Armed with Morning Stars, they were going to attack the northern city of Succubia, which was populated entirely by Vampires.

The day finally came when they reached the city walls. "We will destroy you!" shouted the Crusaders. "Go ahead and try!" shouted the Vampires.

Just then, a low, seductive voice drifted into the conversation. "Oh, we don't really need to fight, do we?"

The Crusaders paused and then regained their composure. "We are the holy forces of Light! Nothing will persuade us to surrender."

"Are you sure about that?" inquired the voice delicately. A new figure walked to the edge of the wall. It was the Black Nymph, ruler of Succubia and a rather attractive woman, so it's said.

"Well..." said the Crusaders uneasily.

"Come inside. I'm sure we can negotiate. After all", said the Black Nymph, gracefully turning, "You wouldn't really want to destroy all of us, would you?"

The Crusaders' negotiations began immediately. The lead Crusader requested a private meeting with the Nymph, who began slowly speaking.

"Light is all about healing, wouldn't you say?"

The Crusader responded proudly. "We can heal ourselves because we have good on our side."

"And yet," murmurmed the Nymph, "Light hasn't given you the ability to heal yourself."

The Crusader said nothing.

"I can give you that. I can give you so much more... Just one night with me, and every blow you strike will heal you. What do you think?"

Slowly but surely, the Crusaders turned into Vampires. But their indulgence came with a heavy price - a sickness, that with time, would kill them all.

Realizing this, a veteran Crusader stabbed the nymph to death with her own Vampire Dagger, and then had the idea to use it as his own weapon. The Crusaders then made more of those weapons, one for every member of their party. Their Morning Stars, neglected, were left behind. In retaliation, the weapons made themselves immaterial, so that they could never be wielded again by the Crusaders.

And so the Crusaders joined the side of Darkness.

The Blazing Divine

What elementalist could possibly think of angering such heavenly creatures as angels, not only just sealing their wounds, but continuing to cause rage in their souls?
One who wants to harvest their true power and divine terror.

Marked with fire by the righteous as one who generates heat, the elemental establishes pillars of blinding light. Illuminating the battlefield, these towers emanate purity with their brightness. Because much light is needed in order to call down Archangels, these structures act as beacons for the divine guardians.

Rays of sunlight dance across the sky, further brightening their paths, making it much easier to see the approaching enemy. The refraction piled up is more than enough.
Instantly, two pillars of flame, falling from the sky, collide with the rays, consuming them and scorching the ground beneath. Pyres roar and sear the earth, producing an energizing warmth. Even without the rays, the light shines on, awaiting to be channeled by its master.

The light on the field dims a little. And so, descending from Heaven, an Archangel gracefully lands, ignoring the scorching heat. Dressed in pure white with wings protruding from its back, the being stares its adversary in the eye, daring it to try and hurt him. He can withstand most attacks without flinching. Though the times he is attacked, simply healing himself is enough, and he then proceeds to deliver great power. A round between the two fighters, and another angel is called down, mirroring the first almost exactly.

By now the fire lessens as some of it forms into a bottle. Flames, licking and jumping, try to escape their containment, but nothing prevails. One angel grasps the container, consuming the liquid, and almost immediately becomes a different creature. Its face turns red and fighting becomes detrimental, but reckless. To calm this angels rage, it is blessed, and whilst it is still a more powerful fighter, it’s now more concentrated. The other angel heals the empowered one, and tranquility once again describes the scene.

One moment of fury after another, the strengthed beings devastste their opponent with attacks only creatures of unending healing can have. The pattern continues, and eventually nothing stands in the Archangels' way, and their duty is complete.

Surveying the scene for anything left to decimate, the holy guardians ready themselves for departure. Meanwhile, the rays of sunshine slowly drift to the ground, shuddering, flickering, and falling; they produce no more light, for they have expired. A rage elixir falls to the ground and spills but the earth remains undisturbed, soaking in the contents. The pillars of red-hot energy die down until they are no more than one small candlelight, only to be suffocated. The towers of glorious light grow dark, causing the battlefield to darken immediately. Those structures, cold and dark, collapse upon themselves becoming a useless pile of rubble.

The Archangels ascend to their place of origin, only to await again the call of battle, when the light is brightest.

Spoiler for Submissions:
Spoiler for Team Darkness:
Though few have heard of it and practically nobody has played it, "I wanna be the guy Gaiden" is simply the hardest video game in existance today. What makes it so difficult? Most importantly, the game was designed specifically to be the most difficult video game. The game is so incredibly difficult, it kills you before you even begin the first stage! Being forced to walk across a bridge to the first stage, a man-eating fish reminiscent of Super Mario Brothers attempts to kill you, followed by the bridge collapsing, which is all capped off by a trap on the level screen that kills the character on contact.
A platform game loosely based off of Super Mario Brothers, many elements of the game are designed with the sole purpose of killing the player's character. Platforms fall off the screen into the sea at seemingly random times, planes randomly appear falling from the sky in order to crush the character, and a multitude of other objects appear in order to send the character to a quick and fiery, or sometimes explosive, death. In a departure from most modern games, many controls and crucial elements are not introduced to the user at the beginning of the game, instead leaving the user to discover them on their own.
The game was unveiled at the EVO convention, a video game convention, earlier this year. A professional gamer known as "Floe," considered to be an expert gamer, spent over 3 hours making an unsuccessful attempt at completing the game in front of a large live audience, despite in-game hints from others and a Skype call from Batman. He accumulated hundreds of deaths in his quest to finish the game, 6 of which were attempting to reach the beginning of the game. Videos of his attempts have been viewed many times on Youtube.
Many games have been made, and many of them claim to be the most difficult. Gamers each have their own games that they consider to be the most difficult. These, for obvious reasons, tend to be personal and subjective decisions. But the simple fact remains that it is extremely difficult to compete with a game that was created with the purpose of being the hardest game in the world. When professional gamers are unable to even make significant progress, much about the difficulty of the game is revealed.

Spoiler for Team Time:

What is the most difficult game of all times? I have asked myself this question many times, and I have come to this answer: it is nearly impossible to find the most difficult videogame ever. This is because many of them provide different difficulties, and what one gamer finds difficult might be quite easy for other gamers; despite this, in order to find the most difficult game, I think we must search within old games, this because newer ones, for newer consoles, use more computation power to provide better graphics (even sensational, compared to old games) rather than better stories; you may read this as a small critic, there are games with fantastic stories even nowadays, but in my opinion they are quite rare. Older consoles did not have exceptional computation power, so game developers needed to focus on other aspects of the game rather than graphics to make a game sellable: difficult gameplay or amazing stories.
Despite this, I have come to the conclusion that the most difficult game ever is Battletoads, a NES game out in 1991; it is a Beat 'em up platform, its difficulty is represented by some factors: first, each level has a different way to control the character, meaning that the same key does different things; second, if you die, you'll respawn in the same point, which is good, if you run out of lives, you'll have to start from the first level, which is terribly bad, and can make you ragequit like a hiding Sanctuary while facing Dark Matter; third, you can play together with a friend, in a co-op, that will make it easier? At all, since there is friend fire...you can kill your partner, so watch out if you play with a friend, you could find yourself with one friend less...
And the levels... I already mentioned that each one has different controls, each one is unique, you will have to hit like in a classic beat 'em up, you will have to climb down a pit with a rope, you will have to run like Sonic the Hedgehog, and all this things dodging obstacles and killing monsters, in a very difficult sequence...
Just for example: I, in one afternoon, with an emulator and quick saves (...which is illegal, but I didn't want to waste my life) have completed only the first two levels; without quick saves I don't know if I had finished the first level even once...
Some other games of that age are said to be difficult, even very difficult, but Battletoads provides either level variety - Contra has Platform levels and first person level, for istance, and Castlevania only platform levels - while in Battletoads every single level is nearly unique, and, as I said before, it also provides a strong challenge to any gamer.

Spoiler for Team Flying Air Pigs:
I Wanna Be The Guy is a free 2D platformer that parodies several Nintendo games created by Michael O'Reilly.  IWBTG uses only basic controls, with jumping/double jumping, right/left movement and shooting. It is also the most difficult game of all time.  Not content to be a difficult game just by virtue of its platformer potential, it's full of horrible surprises that leave you dead.  Indeed, sometimes the only way to be able to anticipate and avoid an opponent is to have prior knowledge of the area or to have already died to it.  One must memorize an exact pattern of movement to be able to complete a level and move on to the next one.  There's also the potential of poor luck absolutely destroying an opponent, with a boss (Dracula) whose attacks range from standard difficulty to nigh-impossible, with some combinations that are horrifically difficult.  Random objects that seem to be simply scenery occasionally maul you and send you back to your last save point.  With increasing difficulty comes decreasing amounts of save points, and at the Impossible level there is only one save point.  That save point attempts to murder you as well.  IWBTG isn't difficult because it's an engaging, complex game with all the fun of a platformer.  It's difficult because you can be instantly killed by things you didn't even know could move.  It's not a fun game, but it's most certainly not an easy one.

Spoiler for Team Gravity:
Battletoads
There have been many games that have been considered the hardest ever made, but what about a seemingly simple game that was created for the Nintendo Entertainment System? This game, called Battletoads, has been frustrating people for the full 21 years since its release. Besides requiring good memory, lightning-fast reflexes, and the will to save the Terran Emperor's daughter, this game has one more interesting feature: it does not save. Normally, if a 13-level game does not save, it is no big deal as it's expected to take a max of an hour or two, but Battletoads on average takes over five hours to complete. This added to the fact that you only have three "continues" (where you can start the game over from a checkpoint after dying) makes this game one of the harder yet, and that's not even including the skill needed to complete said levels. When fighting through the tower, you had a number of hearts, which, when all were lost, cost you a continue. There were many parts in Battletoads, however, where you had the opportunity to be instantly killed, no matter how many hearts you had left. The first and primary example of this was racing. In racing, you have to react quickly to many obstacles that appear in your path, and, if you get your timing off, would cause an instant death, costing you one of limited continues. Also, in the non-racing obstacle course, there were traps that would appear later on in the game that would also cause the instant death, and thus a loss of a continue.
Throughout all of these hardships, people still ended up being extremely drawn to this game. The next-to-impossible gameplay was offset with animations that would add humor to the gameplay, whether it was helplessly watching your creature get slaughtered by a nearby baddie or watching your foot grow in size to finish off an enemy. Battletoads put the elements of a near impossible game with animation humor to make the challenge of beating this game just a little less stressful.

Spoiler for Team Water:
Battletoads

Made for the NES in 1991, it is often touted as the most difficult game of all time. The question is, what makes it so challenging? The game itself is pretty simple, as all you have to do is control a frog that has to defeat all enemies in the level before advancing, unfortunately various other factors make this simple task seemingly impossible. Not only does the game allow a meager three lives with no hope of reprieve, but the complicated obstacle course levels combined with the imprecise controls make it incredibly frustrating.
The primary challenge is the controls. Today, you often see games with beautiful graphics and controls that let you start, stop, and turn effortlessly. Battletoads is completely different, for your character moves slowly and takes time to get up to speed. Any attack will stop your character's movement where he is, making battle difficult when there are multiple enemies. When you stop to attack one enemy, another will often wound or kill you from behind. This is not helped while playing two-player, because although you can walk through your partner, friendly-fire is allowed. Finally, when you jump, you go up unproportionally high, and occasionally off screen, thus removing any chance for a safe landing.
Secondly, your next adversary will be the obstacle course levels. They start out slow, but by the end they are going so quickly that you essentially must memorize the stage to be able to beat it. Obstacles will flash in at the right of the screen, and if you aren't in the exact position, you lose a life and have to start the whole thing over again. With a max of three attempts per run, it is both frustrating and time consuming to become familiar enough with these levels to beat them. The success rate is split in half for two players, as both must pass the stage perfectly; if either player dies both have to restart.
The final and maybe most-devastating aspect of this game is that there are no saves. To beat Battletoads you have to do it all in one sitting, without a single break. You start with three lives, and with no way to recover them, as soon as you lose them they're gone. In any game this would be a challenge, but with Battletoads it's insane. After nearly an hour playing it, I still cannot pass the third level, out of twelve.
Many people will dismiss this game because it is older and seemingly simple. I challenge anyone to provide a screen shot of them winning the game, and how many runs it took them to finally beat it. Only by playing this game can you appreciate how difficult it really is. With the combination of the deceiving controls, tricky obstacle levels, and shortage of lives and saving, Battletoads is only for those who enjoy a challenge and have plenty of time to spare. Hopefully with this little explanation of the troubling experience playing Battletoads will cause, those who laugh at its name will reconsider the possible enjoyment that can be reaped from the hardship of this game.
For those who don't own it, Battletoads can be downloaded and played for free at http://coolrom.com/roms/nes/532/Battletoads.php. This will require an emulator, which is linked near the top. Optionally, the genesis version can be found at http://www.games4win.com/games/battletoads/ however, this is much easier than the original, with 5 lives and much better controls.

Spoiler for Team Nyan Sharks:
Ghosts ‘n Goblins

Spoiler for first scene:

The game is often considered very difficult by arcade standards and is commonly regarded as one of the most difficult games ever released. The game is considered by Gametrailers.com to be the world's second most difficult game ever made.Wikipedia [1]

A Little intro of the game for those who don’t know about it
Ghost ‘n Goblins is an insanely hard platformer/shooting game. The story is pretty innocent; Sir Arthur is having a romantic date with Princess Guinevere (Prin-Prin in the sequels), in a graveyard, only wearing his undies - alright, that’s not so innocent - when a demon kidnaps her under the orders of Satan.
In Arthur’s role, you grab your armor and start your adventure through 6 stages killing hordes of undead in order to rescue her.

The game is so hard that it’s often considered unfair, while at the same time, becoming one of the most popular games in the late ‘80s since it was released for Commodore 64. It has also been released Commodore 16, Commodore Amiga, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, IBM PC compatibles, Sharp X68000, Nintendo Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and NES.

Gameplay
You start with a throwing lance and armor. The armor is weak, though, as it breaks as soon as any undead, bat, ogre, or other foul creature comes into contact with it. After that, you must continue the stage with your undies. Monsters may drop some useless items, and you may get a new armor if you are extremely lucky (I mean, literally extremely lucky. I have never got one when I played it.)

Frustration: If you enjoy dying every 5 seconds and getting shattered to bones, then this is the game for you. The cross weapon idea will get any short-tempered dude really pissed and the second quest where the guys move quicker adds more icing to the cake. Not to mention the theme music and the screeching of demons as you kill them. The viewing of the entire map of the stages you have to play in every time you die!Nintendoplayer.com [2]

If you have never played this game and you are NOT a high-tempered person, I recommend you give it a try here: Ghosts 'n Goblins

Spoiler for Submissions:
Spoiler for Team Flying Air Pigs:
Clash of the Shard Summoners - Rules

Original idea by: [CENSORED]   |   Developed by: [CENSORED]   |   Art by: [CENSORED]   |   Organized by: [CENSORED]

Collect enough Shards to summon your Shard Golem, then crush the opposition!

1. SIGNING UP
Anyone with a forum and a chat account can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting on a separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic, or if it is locked, this event is not currently active, and you will have to wait for it to restart.
The maximum number of participants for this event is 32. If the event is full, you can still sign up as a reserve player. Reserve players will get a chance to join the event if any of the 32 players doesn't show up during round 1, or leaves the event for any reason.

2. BRACKETS

This event uses a 5 round Swiss tournament bracket, followed by a single-elimination tournament bracket of the Top 8 players from the Swiss portion.

In the Swiss portion, players will be paired up against players with similar numbers of collected Shards. After 5 rounds, the Top 8 players from the Swiss portion will move on to the single-elimination portion. In the single-elimination tournament, players will be seeded according to their performance (number of Shards collected) in the Swiss portion -- #1 vs. #8, #2 vs. #7, etc.

Each round, the Organizer will create a new topic in the Battle Results section for each battle taking place. Each player's Shards, attuned elements, the spell-focus Shard, and the prize Shards will be shown.

3. PREPARATIONS

Before the event begins, each player will send in a list of three elements to use as their attuned Shard elements. Not all of the elements chosen have to be different. Examples of valid submissions:

1. :aether 2. :aether 3. :aether
1. :aether 2. :aether 3. :darkness
1. :aether 2. :darkness 3. :death

Before the start of each round, match-ups will be posted. Each match-up will have one randomly generated spell-focus Shard, and four randomly generated prize Shards.

4. DECKBUILDING

Decks may only cards of the elements of the player's attuned Shards or of the spell-focus Shard.
For each complete set of "rainbow Shards" (1 of each element) collected, a player may choose to PERMANENTLY attune one additional element. The attuned element may not change throughout the event.
Cards from "Other" are not allowed.
Standalone Mark cards count as a card of the element they feature (e.g. Mark of Aether is an Aether card.)

Maximum number of upgrades allowed = 3 × [greatest number of collected Shards of one element - 1] + 2 × [number of collected Shards in each non-greatest element - 1] + 12 × [sets of rainbow Shards collected]

Note that the spell-focus Shard is not factored into the upgrade number calculation.

Examples:
:aether :aether :aether :aether :aether :aether :aether :aether :aether :aether :aether :aether
= 3 × (12 - 1) <-- 12 Aether shards
= 33 upgrades

:aether :aether :aether :aether :aether :death :death :death :darkness :darkness :fire :water
= 3 × (5 - 1) + 2 × (3 - 1) + 2 × (2 - 1) + 2 × (1 - 1) + 2 × (1 - 1) <-- 5 Aether shards (most), 3 Death shards, 2 Darkness shards, 1 Fire shard, 1 Water shard
= 12 + 4 + 2 + 0 + 0
= 18 upgrades

:aether :aether :aether :aether :aether :aether :death :death :death :death :death :death
= 3 × (6 - 1) + 2 × (6 - 1) <-- 6 Aether shards (most), 6 Death shards ("second-most")
= 15 + 10
= 25 upgrades

:aether :air :darkness :death :earth :entropy :fire :gravity :life :light :time :water
= 3 × (1 - 1) + 2 × (1 - 1) + ... + 2 × (1 - 1) + 12 <-- 1 set of rainbow Shards
= 0 + 0 + ... + 0 + 12
= 12 upgrades

5. DUELS

Each round, players have 4 days to make the fight happen. They must contact their opponent using a PM, and try to find a time that suits both. If the fight doesn't happen, both players lose by default, unless one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time. Event Organizer will determine who the most active player was, and his or her word is final. It is strongly encouraged to keep a copy of the scheduling PMs sent and received for evidence if needed.

Any player who fails to complete two matches over the course of the event will be removed and subject to the PvP Parasite Warning System.

All matches are five games long. The player who won the greater number of games wins the match.

Desynchs will be replayed using the same decks and marks. If one player agrees that they would have lost that game, their opponent is awarded the win and the two players may move on to the next game, if needed. If there is any dispute over a result, simply replay the game and PM the Event Organizer with the match in question.  The Organizer will then determine whether the original match should have been awarded or if the replay should count.

It's a good idea to either record the matches or take screenshots as proof, in case something weird, like a desync error, happens. Players who are caught cheating will be permanently banned from all Elements Community PvP events, so please play fair.

6. AFTER DUELS

When you complete a match, both players will immediately post the battle results along with the decks they used in the appropriate Battle Results thread (it would be useful to keep track of how many Custom Points you used to build the modified deck). A summary of what occurred is also encouraged. Make sure your deck is EXACTLY what you played -- you MUST keep codes. Any player who delays posting their decks after the match risks forfeiture or even removal from the event.  Editing your post containing the decks you used is discouraged but not prohibited.

After each match and BEFORE the countdown for the current round ends, the winner of the match chooses a number of Shards from their match's prize pool (spell-focus Shard + 4 prize Shards) equal to the number of games they won. For example, winning 5-0 means that the winner takes all 5 Shards from the prize pool, and winning 3-2 means that the winner picks 3 Shards for themselves and leaves the loser with 2 Shards to add to their collection.

Shard choices must be sent via PM to the Organizer. If the winner of a match does not send in their choice by the deadline of the round, they will chose random Shards from their prize pool. Shard choices made will be publicly revealed when pairings for the next round are posted.

7. SUBSTITUTIONS

If a player drops out or is removed from the event for any reason, the Event Organizer will replace them with a player off the Substitution List. The new player will gain control of all collected Shards and attuned elements the replaced player had before their removal.

8. PVP PARASITE WARNING SYSTEM

In addition to all the rules stated already, this event operates under the PvP Parasite Warning System rules as well.  Please make sure you read and fully understand them before joining this event.

9. REWARDS

The winner of the event will receive the following forum award icon:

Players form a team of four and assign elements to every members before they are pitted against each other. This is a double-elimination tournament.

1. HOW TO SIGN UP?
Anyone with a forum and a chat account can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting on a separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic, or if it is locked, this event is not currently active, and you will have to wait for it to restart.

There are no maximum amount of teams, but the minimum amount of teams for this event is 8 (32 players). If the event is full, you can still sign up as a reserve player, and will get a chance to join the event if any of the 32 players doesn't show up during round 1.

2. GETTING READY
This is a team PvP, with each team being referred to as "Guild". Each Guild consists of a Leader, a Vice, and two Backups. After you assemble the Guild members, post them in the sign-up thread, using any celestial body as the Guild name.

After making the Guild, assign all 12 elements to the members, with these rules in mind:
Leader gets 5 elements.
Vice gets 3 elements.
Backup gets 2 elements. For every element a Backup is getting, the other Backup must use the opposing element.

After deciding who gets what elements, PM the list to the Organizer (don't post them in the sign-up thread). It will be revealed when Round 1 starts.

Example Guild:
Spoiler for Team Mars:
Leader: TheHero ( :air :gravity :life :death :time)
Vice: TheLancer ( :aether :entropy :earth)
Backup 1: TheSmartGuy ( :fire :light)
Backup 2: TheBigGuy ( :water :darkness)

3. DECKBUILDING
Players can only use their assigned elements for the deckbuilding, but a deck don't have to contain every elements. Only Marks from assigned elements can be used.
Every player can use up to 6 upgraded cards.
No Other cards allowed.

4. BRACKETS
This event is a double-elimination tournament and uses two kinds of brackets: winners brackets and losers brackets. Everyone starts out in the winners brackets. When you lose the first time, you will drop down to the losers bracket. When you lose the second time, you will be eliminated from the event. The final match will be between the winner of winners brackets, and the winner of losers brackets.

In short, if you lose two times, you are out. If you don't lose two times, you win.

5. DUELS
During each Round, players will be assigned opponent equal to their role. A Leader will always fight a Leader, a Vice with a Vice, and Backup against a Backup. Players have 7 days to make the fight happen. They must contact their opponent using a PM, and try to find a time that suits both. If the fight doesn't happen, both players lose by default, unless one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time. Event organizer will determine who the most active player was, and his or her word is final.

Matches are best-of-five. The first player who wins 3 individual duels, wins the match.

You are allowed to change your deck (and mark) at any time during the match. It is advised that you make the decks beforehand as to not waste time.

It's a good idea to either record the matches, or take screenshots as proof, in case something weird, like a desync error, happens. Remember, a player who gets caught cheating, will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events, so please play fair.

5. AFTER DUELS
Winner should post a new topic in the "Battle Results" section, along with short description of how the match went. Both the winner and the loser are required to post pictures of their decks.

After the round is ended, every win is awarded points based on the winner's role. The points awarded are:
Leader: 5 points
Vice: 4 points
Backup: 3 points

To pass to the next round, a Guild must gain at least 8 points. Guild which failed to collect 8 points will be dropped to the losers brackets so get a second chance to win. Should they fail again, that Guild is eliminated from Guild Wars.

6. WINNER
Guild which win the tournament, wins the event.

7. REWARDS
The winner of the event will receive the following forum award icon: TBD

By using card types only once per deck, players fight against each other until only one remains.

0. SUMMARY OF RULES

*These are the basic rules of the event (however, some of them are debatable via voting polls):

0) Decks can be of any size (30 to 60 cards).
1) You may use a cetrain card type only once in the event (A "card type", in this event, describes a specific card of ETG. Graboids are considered a card type, Cockatrices are considered another card type, Ice Bolts another one, Nightfall another etc. It has NOTHING to do with seperating Permanents, Creatures and Spells into different categories or something similar). It doesn't matter if you use a single copy or six copies of that card type, as long as all the copies appear in the same deck, but you can't use it in a future deck. Elemental Pillars/Pendulums are excluded from this rule, but not Quantum Pillars. When you use every single card type, all the card types are recycled and may be used again.
2) Ultra rares (Marks, Nymphs), Relics & Shards are banned, as well as upgraded cards of any kind.
3) The event is double-elimination and games are best-of-7.

You must also own at least 1 copy of each non-rare and each rare card (except ultra-rares, shards and relics), as well as a fair amount of pillars of any kind (except Quantum Pillars, which is treated as a one-time card). If you don't have all the rares, then you can join as a "non-rare user" player who can't use any rares during the whole event.

Minimum amount of participants for this event is 16 and maximun is 64. If the event is full, you can still sign up as a reserve player, and will get a chance to join the event if any of the players doesn't show up during round 1.

2. GETTING READY
- Your deck may be of any size (from 30 to 60 cards). However, a poll may be added to be decided if only decks of a specific size (e.g. 30-card decks) may be used during the event.
- You may use any non-upgraded cards in the game, except ultra-rares (Nymphs, Marks), relics & shards. However, a poll may be added to be decided if upgraded cards can be used too (e.g. up to 6 upgrades or fully upgraded decks) during the event.
- You may use a cetrain card type only once in the event. it doesn't matter if you use a single copy or six copies of that card, as long as all the copies appear in the same deck, but you can't use it in a future deck. Elemental Pillars/Pendulums are excluded from this rule, but not Quantum Pillars. However, a poll may be added to be decided if Quantum Pillars will be treated as normal pillars instead of one-time cards. If all the available card types are used, they are recycled and can be used again, following the same rules.

4. DUELS
Games are best-of-7 (the first one to win 4 games will pass to the next round). However, a poll may be added to be decided if games will be best-of-5 (first one to win 3 games passes) or best-of-9 (first one to win 5 games passes).
Players have 4 days to make the fight happen. They must contact their opponent using a PM, and try to find a time that suits both. If the fight doesn't happen, both players lose by default, unless one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time. Event organizer will determine who the most active player was, and his or her word is final.

You are allowed to change your deck (and mark) between matches, but you can't use the same card type more than once in the whole event, and you have 3 minutes to do so. If it takes you longer than 3 minutes, it is considered a forfeit and the other player goes to the next round.

Both the winner and the loser are required to post pictures of both their decks as well as all the card types they have already used (already-used card type list) or the ones they still have to use (must-use card type list). Keep in mind that even if you lose and be moved to the losers brackets, your must-use card list is NOT recycled.

6. WINNER
The only player who remains in the end (winner of the final match) is going to be the winner of the event.

7. REWARDS
The winner of the event will receive the following forum award icon:

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:

Spoiler for Questions/Answers:

*Q: Why is this event interesting?
*A: This event is interesting because you have to plan your strategy & tactics in advance. Since each card can be used only once, powerful decks like Discord & BH are usable only once during the event and strong cards like Fractal or Miracle can be abused only once. Furthermore, this tournament encourages the use of 'weak' cards, like Blue Crawler, Flooding, Graviton Mercenary etc., since the player must use them sooner or later. Also, you can plan each deck from the very beginning of the event (though the decks could be plenty, their number may be even exceeding 40) or to speedbuild them according to the cards left into the must-use card list of your opponent. Either way, you must be careful or else you may be forced to build suicidal decks in order to recycle your cards.

*Q: Why do we have to own at least a single copy of each card type?
*A: Since you have to use every single card type once in your deck, you have to own every single one of them. The recycling would be impossilbe (or unfair) otherwise. How can you recycle your cards if you have never used an Antlion in your deck? Furthermore, we wouldn't want to see someone selling all his/her cards on purpose and to keep only GotPs and Nightmares in order to recycle them after every single duel, would we?

*Q: Why so many polls about the rules of the event?
*A: It is better to ask the community how it prefers the event to be executed rather than forcing people to obey the event's rules without allowing them to express a different opinion via the polls.

*Q: Why is Quantum Pillar not treated like the rest Pillars/Pendulums and it is not re-usable?
*A: Because re-usable Quantum Pillars would allow an infinite amount of rainbows and rainbows would deplete the card list of the must-be-used cards extremely fast. We need the players to plan carefully and calculate in advance which card types they are going to use in each game, so they do not end with a last deck full of Pillars/Pendulums and 6 copies of Blessings, Chaos Seeds and Floodings! We don't want them to randomly put a single copy of an Abomination into a rainbow in order to get rid of it, do we? However, keep in mind there will be a poll before the event to see if QP will be treated as a normal re-usable pillar or not.

*Q: What happen if I don't have all the required rares?
*A: You can still join the game as a "non-rare user" account (you have to mention you are a non-rare user each time you submit your deck, your card types lists, or starting a new topic about this event). As a "non-rare user", you can't use any rares but your must-use card list is recycled faster than a rare-user's one (a rare-user player is forced to use all of the rare card types, as well as the non-rare ones, once in a deck before his/her must-use card list become recycled).

*Q: What "one-time card", "card type", "recycling", "must-use card list", "already-used card list", "match", "game", "duel", "round" mean in this event?
*A:
    0) A one-time card is a card type which can be used only in one match (no matter the number of its copies in the deck), untill all the cards are recycled. At the very beginning of the event, all the one-time cards together shape your must-use card list.
    1) A card type describes a specific card of ETG. Graboids are considered a card type, Cockatrices are considered another card type, Ice Bolts another one, Nightfall another etc. It has nothing to do with seperating Permanents, Creatures and Spells into different categories or something.
    2) Recycling happens when your must-use card list is empty. In other words, it occurs right after the last match in which you have used the last card types still allowed for you to play. Recycling causes your must-use card list to be filled again, emptying your already-used card list at the same time. As you can see, you have to play every single non-pillar/pend one-time card type in order to be able to play them again.
    3) Must-use card list describes the amount of card types you haven't used yet in any of your decks and you are forced to use during the next games in order to have your lists recycled.
    4) Already-used card list describes the amount of card types already used in one of your decks during the event and you can not use them again until having your lists recycled.
    5) Match, game and duel mean exactly the same thing. They are used to describe a single PvP game versus two participants. They play up to 7 of these games in a single round.
    6) A round is a set of best-of-7 games between two participants of this event. After each round, each participant must post his/her deck, as well as the must-use card list or the already-used card list (it is his/her choice).

He/she used the Cockatrice, Empathic Bond and Mitosis card types (Emerald Pillars & Life Pendulums are re-usable), so he/she may not use them again in the event. Player 1 won the match, so he/she continues to the next round into the winner's brackets.

* Player 2 used the following deck in his/her first fight with Player 1:

He/she used the Quantum Pillar, Nymph's Tears, Ice Shield and Purify card types (Water Pillars & Pendulums are re-usable, but Quantum Pillars aren't), so he/she may not use them again in the event. Player 2 lost the match, so he/she continues to the next round into the loser's brackets.

* Player 1 who fights Player 2 has the following cards remaining in his/her must-use card list; Dune Scorpion, Golden Dragon, Blessing and Precognition. He/she plays with the following deck:

Since he/she used Dune Scorpion, Golden Dragon, Blessing and Precognition in his deck, he/she has his/her must-use card list empty, so all of his/her cards are recycled and may be used again.

* Player 2 has the following cards remaining in his/her must-use card list; Flooding, Crysaora, Arsenic, Purify, Skeleton, Bone Dragon and Eternity. He/she plays with the following deck:

Elements Bingo
Original idea by: [CENSORED]   |   Developed by: [CENSORED]   |   Art by: [CENSORED]   |   Organized by: [CENSORED]

Players are given boards with elemental marks – each round, a set of marks is given to all players alongside a list of match-ups. Whoever has the most Bingos or has covered the entire board first wins!

1. HOW TO SIGN UP?
Anyone who has a forum account, chat account, and a minimum of 30 posts can sign up for this event. In order to join, players must do two things:
  • Post in the sign-up thread,
  • Post a ‘BINGO’ board in the thread (see below for details)

If the Sign-Up boards are locked or missing, the event has either started already or being worked on respectively.

Similar to a typical bingo board, players are given the chance to design their own 5x5 board using Elemental marks. The center space (also known as the ‘free space’) has a special rule and cannot be touched; otherwise, each player must fill the rest of the board with 2 copies of each elemental mark (24 elemental spaces). However, players are encouraged to create very difficult bingo boards, as the boards they are designing are not for themselves, but for the other players.

The following part below shows the Bingo code table and an example of a correct Bingo board. Fill in the ' :underworld ' icons with elemental icons. DO NOT touch the ' :rainbow ' (FREE SPACE) icon:

Once the sign-ups are closed and all Bingo boards have been created, boards are randomly assigned, and the game begin. (if you did not send in a BINGO sheet, you will not be allowed to participate!) A new topic will be created displaying everyone's original boards before the rounds start.

2. DECKS, ROUNDS, AND GETTING READY
Elements Bingo is split up into (or no more than) 8 Rounds. One 'Round' will last approximately one week.

Before each duel, a set of 3 Elements will become available alongside a list of match-ups: players are only allowed to use those marks within their battles against each other.

Deckbuilding is based on the 3:2 ratio (rounded down). 33% of the deck must contain cards of the element mark in question. If the number of cards is not divisible by 3, players will only have to include as many cards as the next-lowest divisible deck (i.e. – in a 59 card deck, only 19 cards will have to be in-element, as opposed to 20 in a 60 card deck). Other cards (excluding Mark cards) cannot count towards in-element obviously.

Summary of deck building rules:
  • No shards allowed.
  • Upgraded cards are NOT allowed.
  • All cards not mentioned above may be used freely. Mark cards represent their element.
  • Deck Mark must be based on one of the 3 ‘set’ Elements, OR can be anything if ‘FREE SPACE’ is declared (FREE SPACE can only be declared once!).
  • 33% of the deck must be in-element, Other cards do not count towards the requirement.
  • Decks (and marks!) may be changed between duel matches.

3. FREE SPACE!
In order to fill in the ‘FREE SPACE’ of the board, a special requirement must occur. Players who wish to fill in the space must post within the round topic (UNEDITED) if they want to fill in for the slot by saying:

"FREE SPACE DECLARED!"  (or something similar)

Upon doing so, the player may use any mark during deck building for the first match-up only (33% rule for in-element cards still applies). If they win during the match up, the FREE SPACE ( :rainbow ) may be covered, BUT if that player loses, not only will they be set back, but the FREE SPACE icon will become the element of the opponent’s mark for the rest of the event. Thus, it’s important for players to decide when to cover the FREE SPACE slot, as losing will cost them a key spot on the board.

4. DUELS AND SUBS
A duel consists of 3 matches. All players must play exactly 3 matches against each other.

Between matches, players are free to change their deck, as well as their mark (as long as it was one of the 3 'set' elements of that round). For each match won, the player in question may cover a space of the corresponding elemental mark that they used (thus, players can cover 3 spots if they manage to get 3-0). Players should only fight their specified opponent; should a player be unable to face their opponent and complete the three matches necessary, both players will still be given the opportunity to fight each other in the following round, provided the same elemental marks are used of that Round's set.

If both players are still unable to fight each other, another competitor who has not faced them yet may nominate themselves to sub in for the enemy and duel. Subbed competitors can additional covered slots if they win against the person in question. Subbed match-ups must show that the phrase (SUB) in the thread title.

Under no circumstances can a player duel another player if they have already faced them in a previous Round, subbed or otherwise. In addition, players that 'avoid' or try to exploit this system will be disqualified from the event completely. Players may show the organizers proof of their activity in trying to find a suitable time for their original match-up if a player attempts to get others to sub excessively.

If ScaredGirl won 3-0 against zanzarino using the elemental marks, :death, :water, & :death within their match up, ScaredGirl may choose to cover both Death icons on her Bingo card as well as a :water space of her choice.

Suppose Kuroaitou won 1-2 against Dragoon1140 using elemental mark :time in the first match-up, and Dragoon1140 used FREE SPACE on the first match and lost, then :aether and :entropy marks in the second and third matches. Kuroaitou would choose to cover up a :time space of his choice. Dragoon1140 would have his ' :rainbow ' coverted into a :time icon, and choose an :aether and :entropy space to cover.

5. AFTER DUELS
In order to show that you have successfully covered a bingo spot, REPLACE THE ICON IN QUESTION WITH A ' :underworld' SYMBOL. This is the most important fact in order to keep Bingo cards updated. Covering up a space is final and cannot be 'changed' under any circumstance.

The winner (person who won more matches out of the 3) should post a new topic in the "Battle Results" section, along with short description of how the match went. Both the winner and the loser are required to post pictures of both their decks and their updated Bingo Cards. If at any point should a player obtain a Bingo (or multiple Bingos!), players should put in the title [BINGO] in order for the organizer to confirm. Players will be provided a separate page of the # of 'BINGOS' any player has obtained, near the original Bingo sheets.

If any player questions the board of another player, they may PM the organizer and verify it by comparing the new board to the original, as well the deck marks used, as well as if 'FREE SPACE' was declared.

6. BINGO! I WIN!
Winner of the Elements Bingo is either the player who has completely filled the board by the end of a Round, OR the player who has had the most 'BINGO' lines after the event is over/final round ends. Should there be a tie, a 'tie-breaker' round will be issued; the players who are tied with each other will face each other once in a series of 1-match duels ('sudden death'), until one of the players in question scores an additional BINGO while the others have not.

7. REWARDS
The winner of the event will receive the fabulous forum award icon:

Spoiler for Team Nyan Sharks:
     Inception
Original Idea & Developed by: [CENSORED]

Most PvP events are built around you as a player gaining powers or additional deck building options in a restricted environment. Inception instead is designed for you to get inside you opponent's head and mess with their plans. Each round you will be able to add cards to your opponent's deck.

How do I Join?
Anyone with a forum and a chat account can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting you user name and your choice of  element on a separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic, or if it is locked, this event is not currently active, and you will have to wait for it to restart.

The minimum number of players required is 16, the maximum is whatever the PvO feels they can support.
The total number of players allowed into the event will always be an even number: first to signup gets in.

How Will the Brackets Be Made?:
Preliminary Rounds:
The Events begins with 5 rounds of Swiss pairings. This means that no player will be eliminated during the first five rounds.

Final Rounds:
The top eight players will seed to the final rounds of a single elimination event.

Spoiler for Tie Breakers:
  • Best Record
  • Head to Head Record - if applicable
  • Total games won (including matches lost)
  • Total games lost (including matches won)
  • By coin toss

Each round the names and element's of the matched players will be posted.
Your Name:darknessOpponent's Name:fire

How Do I Get Ready?:
Each round you will exchange pm's with your opponent through a neutral third party. This could be the PvO if they feel they have time to handle this many pm's, if they don't they could just assign third player in the event to each pairing - this third player would act as this neutral third party.

In this pm you will add cards to your opponent's deck for each game of the match and will assign them their mark.
You may not add rare cards to your opponent's decks.

RoundMarkCards
Round #1  :entropyVoodoo Doll
Round #2  :deathAbomination
Round #3  :timeIvory Dragon
Round #4  :aetherScarab
Round #5  :waterLightning

In the first round cards must be from their chosen element - in each subsequent round the cards must be from the mark you assign the round before.

Deck Building:
Deck Size: All Decks must be 35 cards or more
Banned Cards: Quantum Tower, Nova, Immolation, Discord, all Shards, and the upped versions of these cards are banned for this event. They may not be used in deck building or given for your opponent's to play.
Upped Cards: You may use up to 6 upped cards in your decks each round.

Game #1:
  • You may only use pillars and pends from your chosen element
  • You must use the mark assigned to you by your opponent
  • You must include 6 copies of the card they added to your deck

Following Games:
  • You may only use pillars and pends from the element you used as your mark in the previous round
  • You must use the mark assigned to you by your opponent
  • You must include 6 copies of the card they added to your deck

Duels:
Players have 2 days to forward their choices to their neutral third party. If for some reason the selected player is unable to function in this role they will need to inform the PvO before the brackets are posted for that round - if after the brackets are posted they fail to perform this role they are unable to use upped cards for the remainder of the event - if it happens a second time they are eliminated from the event.

Players then have 5 days to contact their opponent by PM and arrange a time to meet for their duel. If the fight doesn't happen, both players lose by default, unless one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time. Event organizer will determine who the most active player was, and his or her word is final.

Matches are best of 5. It's a good idea to either record the matches, or take screenshots as proof, in case something weird, like a desync error, happens. Remember, a player who gets caught cheating, will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events, so please play fair.

After the Duels:
Winner should post a new topic in the "Battle Results" section, along with short description of how the match went. Both the winner and the loser are required to post pictures of both their decks for each round, as well as the mark and cards added to their decks by their opponent.

The Winner:
The winner of the single or double elimination finals is the winner of the event.

Reward:
The winner of the event will receive a really cool icon something like these:

Note: I don`t have the rights to this art - they are just ideas and should not be used for the actual event.

Spoiler for Team Gravity:
RNGless - Rules
Original idea by: CENSOREND   |   Developed by: CENSOREND    |   Art by: CENSOREND    |   Organized by: CENSOREND

The RNG godess is dead! Using unupgraded cards, players battle in a non-random, controlled environment by using their Elements knowledge and observation skills.

1. SIGNING UP

Anyone with a forum and a chat account can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting on a separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic, or if it is locked, this event is not currently active, and you will have to wait for it to restart.

Maximum amount of participants for this event is 16. If the event is full, you can still sign up as a reserve player, and will get a chance to join the event if any of the 16 players doesn't show up during round 1.

2. GETTING READY

Build one deck of any size (from 30 to 60 cards), without using any cards that provide random results.
- You may use any non-upgraded cards in the game.
- Shards are banned.
- The cards you may not use are:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4sa 4t4 4t5 4t6 4t7 4ta 4tb 4tc 4td 4te 4tf 4th 4ti 4tj 4tk 4tl 4tm 4vi 4vk 4vl 4vm 4vp 52l 52m 5c3 5i9 5lj 5og 5ri 5um 5uo 623

4. DUELS

Decide a time that best suits you and your opponent. You have 5 days to do so.

Matches are best-of-one. Yes, this means if you lose once, you lose the round. This is because each game will be about 30 minutes long.

YES. You choose your starting hand, AND any cards you draw.

Duels will occur in their own mini-thread (titled [Round X] Player 1 vs Player 2), where players will post their decks, and fight in the format of:

Spoiler for Hidden:
Draw: *Card*
Hand: *Card #1* | *Card #2* | *Card #3* | *Card #4* | *Card #5* | *Card #6* | *Card #7* | *Card #8*
Deck: *Numer of cards left* cards
Plays: *Card #2* *Effect of card here (if spell)*
Plays: *Card #6* *Effect of card here (if spell)*
Plays: ...
Creature abilities: *Creature #1* *Effect of ability*
Creature abilities: *Permanent #3* *Effect of ability*
Creature abilities: ...
Creatures: *Creature #1* | *Creature #2* | *Creature #3* | *Creature #4* | *Creature #5*
Total damage: *Attack power of all creatures added together minus effects of shields and delays*
Permanents: *Element* Pillar stack x *number of pillars* | *Permanent #2* | *Permanent #3*
Permanents' effects: *element* pillar stack +5 *element*

Permanents' effects: ...
Quanta: X :*element* | Y *:element*
Opponent's quanta: X :*element* | Y *:element*
Health: *your health*
Opponent's health: *opponent's health*

No more than 3 minutes between each post, otherwise games get too long. Quote the last post to make formatting easier. If you realise your opponent has made a mistake (misscalculated damage, etc) post it in the topic and DELETE YOUR POST WHEN THEY HAVE EDITED THEIRS.

5. AFTER DUELS

The first poster will edit the title of the thread to " [Round X] Player 1 - winner vs Player 2 "
Your match will be looked over by the organiser to make sure no mistakes were made.

You may change your deck between each duel.

6. REWARDS
The winner of the event will receive the following forum award icon:

Where are the bonus category submissions? Or did none get submitted?
Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?
If your zombie plan is

I'd assume those two are a crusader and a lava golem, thought it reminds me too much of brand.
