Title: Worm
Post by: theelkspeaks on January 18, 2017, 04:19:46 pm
I'm not normally much of a superheroes and supervillains fan - not that I have anything against the genre, I just haven't found that much of it that I've liked.

I'm also not always one who likes the grimmest and darkest stories possible.  Yet, somehow, there's this fantastic story that's exactly at the crossroads of two things I don't always like (well, ok, not the grimmest and darkest /possible/, but definitely has moments of darkness throughout).  Meet Worm, a completed serialized webfiction starring a high-school aged girl named Taylor suddenly discovering her ability to control bugs.  Take a journey through the world of the superpowered heroes and villains of the town of Brocton Bay, and experience extremely exciting worldbuilding, careful characterization of superpowers, and a willingness to explore exactly what the limits of conventional superpowers are.

Warning: Not for those who are easily grossed out, some rather disturbing things are done with superpowers.

Enjoy the read, and feel free to hit me up on chat or this thread to talk about the story! (Use of spoiler tags is probably helpful to avoid spoiling others).
