Heralds of Valdemar Series by Mercedes Lackey
Orion Series by Ben Bova (has to be a series I've found 2 books now, looking for the rest... I found the first one in an Ikea)
Nightfall, Isaac Asimov
The Silvermerillion was pretty epic, but a good read.

Hope I give people some reading ideas...

1. A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin (hence the name...)
2. The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
3. The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss
4. The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan (and Brandon Sanderson)
5. Codex Alera by Jim Butcher

And I could go about 10-15 more deep if you really want to get into it...

Has the Wheel of time series finally finished? I did start reading it a good few years back, back in the 1990's I think but somewhere along the line stopped following it.From what I recall it was a good well written series though.

There will be one more book.  After Robert Jordan died, Brandon Sanderson took over and signed on to do the final three.  Two of them have been written and published so far.  I've read the entire series except the 2nd Sanderson one; the whole thing is very good, and Sandserson did a good job both in writing in general and in imitating Jordan's style.  Even if RJ wrote most of it before he died (I think RJ wrote about half himself? Not sure) Sanderson still managed to do an excellent job on the parts that were his own.

Really love the night angel trilogy. Brent weeks manages to include a lot of characters and make every one of them epic.
Also the Dresden files from Jim Butcher. short reads, but good story and absolutely hilarious.
Ender's game and the 3 books after that, after those ones it just got too complicated for me
And finally Legends of the Dragonrealms by Knaak. not as good a quality as others, but amazing story and he has written SO MUCH OMG :o

@Bird Man The Dresden Files are a lot of fun :) Brent Weeks is gonna have to wait for now as for some reason my local libraries don't seem to stock his books.I've read some stuff by Knaak and it's okay but not one of my favs, thanks for the recommendation though.I've not read Ender's game..thought that was sci-fi

Ender's Game is scifi :p  It's awesome.  Orson Scott Card has done some fantasy as well, but he's much better at scifi.  His fantasy is still good, though.

The Black Magician Trilogy by Trudi Canavan. I've heard much about the Wheel of Time series.
Someday I'm going to read it. But first I've got to finish the Sword of Truth series.
