With the Art Class, every lesson will try to use a theme. Since we have a million threads in the Card Idea forums, I could randomly pick one, but I'd prefer if the creators would help out and suggest their own cards for it. There are rules to follow for this, so be warned. I also can't guarantee that your card will make it into the lessons, or that any quality art will be created for it. With that in mind, here are the rules to signing up your idea:

Post a link to the thread. Don't post the actual card images, please.
[/li]No copyright violations. If your Card Idea currently uses copyrighted artwork, your post will be removed. Keep in mind you're posting things for artists, a bit of respect for them would be approriate.
[/li]One idea per community member. That's right, one post, one idea. Don't go listing your entire portfolio.
[/li]Elaborate. This is optional, but it'll go a long way to getting your idea used. Explain why the concept of your card idea would make for a great study object.[/li][/list]Good luck!
So long and thanks for all the fish!

Overgrowth|Overgrowth would make a good candidate I think.  it is my most successful card up to date, is in the Forge and is ranked 5th in Permanents I believe, and perhaps requires the most interesting art.  The card itself refers to a concrete object/place so that gives someone a good area to start off with.  Hopefully a jungle or growth of sorts allows an artist to be as busy as they want and include as much detail as they think is needed.  The current images are credited to the users who uploaded them to Wikipedia, so I believe that makes them distributable; I posted the licenses I found for each.

I've been meaning to revamp this art for a long time now, but I've never gotten enough time :'(

Why this would be a good be a good study object?
Creating art to capture both an abstract mechanic like this as well as the theme can be very difficult in my opinion.(I might be exaggerating a bit here, but the principle is the same)

A short explanation on the mechanic:
I'd like to take the time to explain the mechanic of this card as it can be very easily misunderstood:
The idea behind this card (and the series for that matter) is the idea of producing 2 quanta from differing elements at the same time. However, the real kicker here is the secondary ability. The secondary ability allows you to apply a spell to a creature and create something unexpected. (almost the way RT + mummy works) In this particular case, it applies to Cloud + lightning.

Dual Buckler, I think would be great since drawing a shield would be relatively simple, and it would also help in teaching symmetry. If this was used I personally would recommend it for a more beginner class rather than a class we do later. It also has a pretty vague concept of simply two shields so creativity would be stressed as well. This card is in armory and cannot be voted up any higher. I would really appreciate if you would chose this card :D

    This is Nile Crocodile.

I drew it an art with paint, and could really use some better art.
A crocodile is an easy subject to draw, since everybody knows how a crocodile is made.

I have no idea where this should go, but there's a flash game contest using the program "unity".  Unity is more like a physics engine designed to take other objects and other programs and combine them nicely.  I've seen it use autodesk 3ds for it's 3-d object creation, and use photoshop to create skins for the autodesk file, all before being updated and added into it in real time, complete with physics such as weight and collisions.

    It's pretty damn awesome.

So I guess I'm just asking if this will ever cover anything like the creation of 3d digital art.

    Temple Series (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,16622.0.html)

I'm submitting this because I think it can be a good laboratory for new artists. I mean, there are twelve images needed, all with a common theme (the Temple of an element). Anyway, vrt and Pepokish will decide. :)

Boret already did two images, and started a third (the Earth Temple), but I'm open to new artists. The only thing I must mention is that, since I like Boret's idea of having the Element's symbol as the center of the Temple, I want to keep it in all the images of the serie. So what I need are some edifices/monuments with the element's symbol at the center of the attention and thematically appropriate backgrounds (such as water for :water, fire for :fire, light for :light and so on - intuitive, isn't it?).

    Shatter | Shatter (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,12741.0.html)

If you assign it, please tell them to make it the concept of shattering or splitting, preferably black/white. This is because I might change the color and theme. Aside from my personal preferences, I feel that it, being an abstract concept, would be perfect for most lessons. For example, you can ask for a picture of suspended motion, or a picture of one light source refracting through shards of glass, etc.
