Okay. I just made this deck for fun and now I'm just freaking out.

The deck actually works AMAZINGLY, especially against minimum permanent control.

Also, with Shard of Divinity, Gratitude keeping your HP high, Shard of Sacrifice can net you a high HP EM game.

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6rk 6rk 6rm 6rm 6rm 6rm 6rm 6rm 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rt 6rt 6rt 6rt 6rt 6rt 6ru 6ru 6ru 6ru 6ru 6ru 8pt

6 Shard of Void and Sacrifice.

Note that the Mark is :darkness on purpose since we want to damage the opponent as quickly as possible.

Some notes on playing the deck...

- Do NOT play Shard of Gratitudes if you have multiple Shards of Sacrifice in hand. Remember: SoGs DAMAGE you when an SoS is activated.

- Don't kill yourself by using SoS with less than 24 HP left :D

- SoV can't kill. If the opponent has loads of permanent controls, save a Long Sword in case you somehow bring him/her down to 1 hp.

One iffy thing about the deck above is that SoGs could become totally useless, in fact detrimental with SoSs in place. I'm thinking some non-mono other variations. Here are some:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6rk 6rk 6rm 6rm 6rm 6rm 6rm 6rm 6rt 6rt 6rt 6rt 6rt 6rt 6ru 6ru 6ru 6ru 6ru 6ru 7ti 7ti 7ti 7ti 7ti 7ti 8pt

(6 SoV, 6 SoS)

Protects the shards against permanent controls. IMO the best version.

More to come...

You know the real problem with this type of deck in my opinion? It works. .-. It's underwhelming. I mean, are we playing Elements the Game or Shards the Game?

Maybe make a rule to how much shards you can have in a deck just like the six copies of the same card rule?

Once this patch leaves beta, these kind of decks will be FUN. Not truely competitive. They will be a fun idea, but nothing more and nothing less. They may be effective, but not even close to overpowered.

Chances are they'll heal you for more than the SoGs hurt you, I'd imagine.
Remember that you would need to have the dmg SoS will do to you and the damage the shards will give you when they hurt you since they will damage you before your opponents attack.

I don't really agree. The above deck is quite overpowered, actually. Mostly because of Shard of Sacrifice, but even without that... Will we have a truly competitive deck without Shards anymore? Yeah, most likely yes, but look at how predominant Shard of Gratitude is now. This patch will change the game for sure, but I'm worried that most of the upcoming decks will have more Other cards than cards from an element. .-. It's... sad.

1.29 is now available in trainer, and I'm trying this variant (6 Shards of Sacrifice, 6 Shards of Void):

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 4vj 6qq 6rk 6rm 6rm 6rm 6rm 6rm 6rm 6rt 6rt 6rt 6rt 6rt 6rt 6ru 6ru 6ru 6ru 6ru 6ru 77i 77i 77i 7th 8pt

Seems to work well against False Gods, in fact, against ANY False Gods. Winning chance is almost independent to which False God you meet.
Needs some data, but that chance seems to be sufficiently high for me.

I think that this (kind of) deck deserves some special name and investigation. This deck will work not only against False Gods, but actually against any kind of opponent AI, including Arena Platinum League decks.

What will you nightmare? Or does it not matter, and you're just putting it in for damage? The heal aspect of Nightmare will deny you EM's if you have an SoS out.
