Well said hrmmm. There's just no reason to use proverbs that can be understood as a belittling comment. Instead try this next time ;)
Thats the exact same as my version lover except you took out a condor.... great minds think alike!
Then about that version Lovers posted. Yes, I believe that will work really really well. After testing some 10 games with Ff's deck (your version -1 tower +1 condor +1 catcher), I believe having 6 Catchers and Condor might be good for the deck. 3 finishing cards with little variation is nice, and 6 catchers help drawing 2-3 of 'em faster. But all in all, those are just minor final tweaks, and everyone has to find the optimal build to ones own playing style. The thing that you 2 ended to almost identical builds says that those might be pretty close to optimal one. If that is the case, congrats guys and thank you for showing interest on my deck idea!

Fine fine, and the reason i said that was because our posts are right next to each other, not hard to find.

But its cool ill take it as the compliment

Just wanted to say that this deck is a ton of fun to play. As soon as I saw it, I knew that I had to make it.

I think this deck really shows that retrovirus is not a worthless card after all.

Kudos on the great idea!

I built a similar deck when Soul Catcher came out, and I've messed around with it a fair amount, and one think I can say for sure is that you need the full set of Soul Catchers. The deck just can't really start to function until you get 2 of them, and you need to be able to reliably get them fairly early.

yes it needs 6 soul catchers.

i fooled around with both versions, DoSA and Retro.
both are fun to play, but to be honest, both decks suffer on bad draws.
and there is a reason for that, lying in the nature of both decks:

you need almost every kind of cards in the deck early, to get a succesfull combo
-> no SC: bad -> outrushed
-> no towers: bad -> outrushed
-> no virus: bad -> outrushed
-> no bonewall: bad -> outrushed
oh... and fractal is also crucial.

also every early delay, a fg manage to do (concealing or lobo your virus/exploding or quake your towers, sc's), takes your setup in a high vulnerable position.

but, you are able to beat almost every fg with this deck. osiris, decay and scorpio are the only fgs i coudnt beat so far.

the stats i took so far seems to have a win% about 25-30% (im gonna post them later).

anyways this decks are a really nice alternation to rol/hope

did 41 games so far, Impressed with the stats so far.

41/15/26/0
played/won/lost/EM

total win %: 36.59%
EM%: 0%
TTW: 16.6

The deck suffers heavily from bad draws, and loses left and right from this. The condor will probably have to go, since I never find it a better card than the dragon, and in all 41 games, I preferred to fractal a dragon to get the 11 damage in immediately, and not wait for another round of killing creatures to get somewhat bigger condors, like 7/8 ones.. le sigh...

thinking of changing it for another bonewall to keep me alive more in the early game, or another tower...

Seems pretty good: Two games. Two wins. I still feel it's missing something though, any suggestions?

Not enough :death Pendulums.

Now you have 6/30 sources for initial 2 :death to play Retrovirus, so you have only 83% chance for having at least 1 in your first 7 cards, and 93% for 1+ in first 10 cards. That basically means you'll lose some 7% games due to not being able to get first 2 :death quanta for Retrovirus #1 soon enough.

If you change :aether Towers & Pendulums for :death Pendulums, you'll have 10/30 sources for :death. Then you'll have 96% chance for having at least 1 in first 7 cards, and 99% for 1+ in first 10 cards. That should help you getting started faster on 6-10% games.

Running this deck with 10 death pendulums, I was having a lot more trouble getting a retrovirus on the field than I've had playing fractal.

15 wins to 37 losses with 7 skips.
