Title: Brilliant Sacrifice [FG][Arena]
Post by: UnderneathTheLens on December 31, 2012, 04:06:02 am
Seeing as 1.31 is coming to an end, I might as well post this, even though I only have 38 recorded matches with it.

Since it seemed that the current top decks were extremely control resistant, I figured that was the way to go. First, I decided to go with Quint + SoW + Reflective Shield, since that is a very cheap combo. For stalling, I had Sundials, but I replaced those with SoSas and SoDs, to make it even less susceptible to control.

And here we have an almost completely control resistant deck: the only non-immaterial permanent is the pillar, no creatures, even purify is useless, and the quanta needed is minimal: you just need enough to fund 1 Quint, 1 Reflective shield, and a few SoWs and SoDs.

Strategy: Quint ONE creature (unless stated otherwise in God by God), and dump all of your SoWs on it. Play reflective shield when necessary. It's a lot more effective than you think it is. The opponent will often have a 20+ attack creature damaging itself while still doing a good amount of damage to keep your SoSas going. The low damaging gods, such as Dream Catcher, are kept at bay by the 6 SoDs. This deck is also Miracle resistant, as there is no "yellow bar", and all you have to do is kill miracle gods from more than 20 hp.

Current W/R is 22W, 16L

Akebono - Medium - (Would be very easy if he didn't have a Chimera; since he does, save an extra quint + wisdom) - 1-1

Chaos Lord - Medium - (Discord is kind of annoying) - 1-1

Dark Matter - Medium

Decay - Hard - Try to be fast - 0-1

Destiny - Easy

Divine Glory - Medium - (Wisdom as many different guys as possible, you to kill him from >20 hp to dodge miracle) - 1-0

Dream Catcher - Easy - (Can't outdamage your SoDs, and also has quint if you're missing one) - 1-1

Elidnis - Hard - (Bonds; don't invest all of your SoWs, he has quints and Phase Dragons, so try to have as many wisdomed creatures as possible) - 1-2

Eternal Phoenix - Easy

Ferox - Very Hard - (Bonds) - 0-2

Fire Queen - Very Hard - (Bonds) - 0-1

Gemini - Easy - (Has prequinted creatures, if necessary) - 3-0

Graviton - Easy

Hecate - Medium - (Vampires and Rage Pots are annoying) - 2-0

Hermes - Easy

Incarnate - Hard - (Vampires) - 0-1

Jezebel - Hard - (Cloak + Stealing all your pillars) - 0-1

Lionheart - Easy - (Free quints for you!) - 2-0

Miracle - Medium - (It is absolutely imperative for you to target a strong creature; many if possible; you need to kill him from above 20 hp) - 1-0

Morte - Medium - (Bone Wall useless, Try to dodge/make him discard the Miracle) - 2-1

Neptune - Easy

Obliterator - Medium - (If you target a shrieker, when you use SoSa it will burrow and halve its damage. It's kind of annoying, but you can fight through it. I'd still recommend targeting a dragon though) - 1-0

Octane - Easy - (UGs useless) - 3-0

Osiris - Easy - 2-1

Paradox - Easy - (Consider quinting before he Deja Vu's; it's a buy one get one free, and will help you avoid the miracle)

Rainbow - Easy - 1-0

Scorpio - Easy

Seism - Medium - 0-2

Serket - Medium - (Would be very easy if this bastard didn't have cloaks) - 0-1

Well, 18 shards!
We need to think about a way to convert this to 1.32..

Hmm... Must've missed that. I did come up with this by myself though.

Oh well, now I'm trying to figure out if there's any way to convert this over to 1.32, but it looks to be quite difficult.

Messed around for a bit in the trainer... how about this deck for a variation of your idea for 1.32 once released?

I had a fair amount of success with it in limited / quick FG testing.
