Weeell... We can always generate a Husk on the opponent's side of the field, like all the useful mass of the creature is removed and tossed to the opponent for them to deal with. Bad fumes = poison for them perhaps?

That would change the dynamic of the card completely =p but it could work. The fumes could be...splash damage? And the husk could be +2 HP the original creature with 0 atk (dead weight)?

seems a bit over powered especially when you have fire cards like phoenix , you only need 2 to have a continuous growth

Matches don't last that long sometimes (4-7TTW), and it has a high starting cost.

I suggestion though, maybe a cooldown of 1 damage per 2 turns? (IF you do not activate it.)
