Title: Cygnia - Archival Revival
Post by: Hyroen on January 24, 2016, 06:38:28 pm
With the advent of Cygnia, a potent balancing and testing tool, it is important to consider ideas that have in the past been fan favourites.

Naturally, however, reviving all archived ideas would not only be time-consuming, it would be inefficient. Thus, this topic will be used as a reference to nominate ideas in the Armory (Anvil) Archive that should be considered for addition to Cygnia. Upon nomination they will be added to the poll above. Over time, Card Curators will use poll information to bring back ideas from the previous Crucible system and consider their addition to Cygnia.

Votes per member will follow the standards of the current Crucible system:

# of Cards0-23-67-1213-1718-2526-3233+
#of Votes0123456

In the case that a card idea from the Armory Archive has a broken card image, feel free to recreate it using the Elements Card Image Builder (http://elementscommunity.org/tools/xenocidius/card/) (without art) and include the new image in this thread. Card Curators will revise the image and may use it to repair the thread.

For any further questions, feel free to PM Card Curators.
! Any irrelevant discussion is subject to removal at the discretion of Card Curators.

In order to nominate a card idea in the Armory Archive for the addition to Cygnia, please use the following code:

Code: [Select]
[url=*insertcardlinkhere*][img width=188 height=288]*imageofunupgradedcardlinkhere*[/img][/url]

Furthermore, feel free to add rationale and/or discussion about the card.

I also added spoilers, because otherwise posts can become quite big very quickly.

Gonna go ahead and throw one of my favorite creations of mine up here:

Is this for Anvil only?  There are some pretty good cards in Forge archive as well that fell through the cracks when barely any votes were coming in.

Adding a 3rd option in order to officially justify having 1 vote. Also, added the None option. Feel free to change your vote.

If a card image from a card idea thread is broken, feel free to repair it and include it in this thread.

The Archival Revival thread was designed more to be an informative tool for Curators to use rather than an integrated and strict system. It is still in discussion what will be done when more cards are included and when more votes are submitted. This is why the poll has no timer as Curators understand that the level of activity in the Card Design community is lower than average, this matter is not as urgent as others, it can just run without a particular deadline, as a background process, at least for now.

It is likely that cards with the most votes will not be going directly into Cygnia, but rather will be strongly considered for their integration back into the Crucible System, as it wouldn't make sense to bring them all back, especially when there is no interest.

Card Curators are currently trying to address the issue of having archived approximately 5 years of scrutiny and high levels of voter turnout, and the first step is to figure out which cards should be prioritized. To be perfectly fair, all cards should be brought back into the system, as they theoretically already earned their stripes. However, this would mean a large flux of card ideas entering the system and this is not ideal as it would disrupt the current process and be a drastic change in the polls.
