Deck/Vault building rules:
Generals are given 500 blank cards. These cards will be used as currency when recruiting players during the next phase. Later they will be used to build the starting Vault for the team.


Vault building rules:
- at least 50% of cards have to be from your element
- maximum of 24 per card from your element (restriction doesn't apply to Pillars or Pendulums)
- maximum of 12 per card from other elements (restriction doesn't apply to Pillars or Pendulums)
- no Shards


Deckbuilding rules:
- Any mark
- At least 50% of your cards have to be from your element
- Regular players can use unupgraded cards only
- Generals can use up to 6 upgraded cards (unupgraded cards taken from the Vault are transformed into upgraded ones)
- Lieutenants can use up to 3 upgraded cards (unupgraded cards taken from the Vault are transformed into upgraded ones)
- You cannot change your deck until the round is over

As a new rule in War #2, teams now have the option to convert some of their cards. This means that they can replace any card in their Vault with a Pillar or a Pendulum of their element. Converting helps teams to avoid a situation where they would be otherwise forced to build "suicide" decks. Converting will be done by the Vault Organizer who posts on the Vault topic which cards are converted, and then editing the Vault. Teams can convert a maximum of 12 cards per round.

imo, let's go 24 on the Immortals.  When push comes to shove, and we lose matches, we will need Aether creatures.

Also, 6 Mind Flayers would be nice.  When we go up against Gravity, they will likely expect Lobo for Lobo'ing, not a creature.  We throw in DS + PA, bam, win.

Also, 9 Horned Frogs would be nice.  That way, me AND icb can use the Frogtal, since I can use three upgraded cards as well.

360 cards is at most 12 decks for 9 people to use.  So here is an idea I just got, we take a few mono :aether decks and a few duo decks.  This will limit us in deck ideas, but it might make it easier in later rounds to build better decks.

3 mono :aether decks = ~90 :aether cards.

1 :aether / Rainbow deck = ~15 :aether & ~15 other cards.

2 :aether / :fire decks = ~30 :aether cards & ~30 :fire cards.  [PC/CC]

2 :aether / :darkness decks = ~30 :aether cards & ~30 :darkness cards. [PC/CC/Quantum Denial/Heal]

2 :aether / :life decks = ~30 :aether cards & ~30 :life cards. [Rush/Creature Spam/Heal]

2 :aether / :time decks = ~30 :aether cards & ~30 :time cards. [Stall/CC]

Total = 225 :aether cards.

I have serious concerns about a couple of decks:

Definite yes:
Uber MF--heal vs stall (I get the feeling bigger is better--but whatever wins is best!)
 :death stall--with dragons

Would not keep:  I have <50% rate of beating AI3 with these.  They may be better in PvP, but don't know for sure.
 :aether Nova/immortal deck
 :gravity Fractal chargers (especially pendulum based--can fractal but can never play more than 1-2 chargers/turn until too late)

Need tweak:
 :time Fractal scarab (without novas) suffers CC without :gravity mark, though may be slightly faster with :time
 :death vulture/spark: consider adding 2 PU to capitalize on huge vultures--that way you rely less on mark to get creatures out and can get walls up.  Even without this, this is a very nice deck--will defeat steal/deflagration strategy

Undecided:
Voodoo/PU -- would only work against non-momentum creatures.  Worried that anti- :aether decks will be momentum-based.  Could possibly add MF, or mutate, but doubt this will help much.  Probably good against  :air :life :light  :earth  :fire given the right matchup.
